Thank you Ray for being the most HONEST mechanic around!!!! I was treated bad by more than 10 mechanics around Pflugerville and Austin area.You are the only mechanic that I will let touch any of my vehicles.When I saw the review about you I felt that I should write this. I think the reviews are by the mechanic shops around you because they are losing customers to you. To anyone reading the other reviews, disregard all the bad comments. At first when you call they sound real nice and professional, but as soon the work is done it's a different story.Ray had done some work to my engine.He so called fixed my problem, but failed to notice that I had a valve issue also.If he was a real experienced mechanic he would have pointed out the issue with the valve and therefore giving me an option to get it fixed while he had the engine apart.He really toped it off by screwing my oil pan drain plug so tight,that I would have to take it back to him.I also had a leak that was never there before.I really recommend that you avoid this shop.If you really need a reliable shop look up MBC service station.A friend of mine led me to them and they took care of the mistakes that Payless auto had made.AVOID them at all COST(Literally) Cons: Not doing the right job,rigging your car so you can go back. more

The most honest mechanic shop in town. They do free check up and computer check. I used to pay over $75.00 for this service. Don,t believe me call them. They have been in bussiness over 21 years in Austin area. I have been taking my cars to them over 12 years. The reason I am writing this is because I saw a very unjust reviews about this mechanic shop. I felt that I need to say this about this shop. Love you guys, I have 3 mid age vehicles in my family. I could not keep them running without this guys.Keep up the good jobs and keep your price low as always. Don't believe me compared them with other shops. more

At first I thought the service was bad, because I'm a woman, but as far as good service goes, THAT SHOULDN'T MATTER! I took my car in to have the radiator raplaced and transmission fixed. Joe (the mechanic) used water instead of coolant in my radiator, and didn't even bother to check the hoses, water pump, and everything that goes along with cooling the engine, as Ray (the owner) assured me had been done. This ""Repair shop"" is nothing but a financial trap as far as I'm concerned, and when I called expressing concern over my car leaking, Ray played ignorant and hung up in my face. Pros: Nothing Cons: conned out of nearly $2000 more
