OK bake goods 8/26/2010

For such a busy place you would imagine more fresh softer pastries, also the Manhattan crowd makes it uncomfortable to grab a bite. more

Yum 4/29/2009

I heard Patsy's is related to Grimaldi's. We stopped by here on our way back to where we were staying. The pizza was thin and delicious. Two of us ate the whole large pizza. The clear glass in front of the guys making the pizza allows you to see how they make it. Quite interesting - fresh cheese, thin crust, lots of toppings. Next day we went to Grimaldi's to learn that they were related and no wonder they were so yummy! more

Famous Name Pizzeria/Restaurant 9/6/2005

Busy Upper East Side pizzeria/restaurant on the corner of Second Av and 69 Street. Family friendly - plexiglass window for little ones to see the pizzas being made and baked. They serve bread and olive oil (no butter). Salads are ample, enough for two. Caesar salad (insalata romana) is great ($7 or $17 for family size - big enough for 4). Pastas are okay but people come here for the thin-crust pizza which arrives bubbling hot. A large pie starts at about $15 and when you add salad, drinks, appetizers, your bill could be $50+ which is a lot more than you thought you would spend for a night out for pizza so make it an occasion. Service is congenial. Atmosphere is casual. more

Great Pizza 9/3/2005

This is a good place to go with a group of friends. We split some salad and a couple of pies and it was great. I didn't think this place would be a contender for best pizza in New York City, but it doesn't fall too far behind the big names. Went on a Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of empty tables. more

Good food, often packed 6/23/2004

Great pizza, pastas, and salad. Particularly good pastas. But always packed on nice weekend evenings. Also, make sure to ennouniciate if you're ordering takeout or delivery. They have been known to make mistakes. more
