Don't waste your hard earned money. This place is horrible! 3/6/2010

We live in the neighborhood (West Village) and decided to give this place a try. Although the restaurant (I use the term lightly) was half empty, they decided to seat us in the back at a dark table near the dark kitchen and bathroom. The menu claims high quality pizza from quality ingredients from an old family recipe, when in fact the pizza crust is soggy, tasteless and of the same quality as Dominos. We ordered two small 12"" pizza and 3 sodas and the bill came out to $55 not including tip! Save your money and go Keste, a real top quality pizza place a few blocks away on Bleecker street.\r Suggestion for the owner - maybe if you provided some light to your pizza chef (laugh) he would have a better chance finding the high quality ingredients you promise on your menu. \r Run from this place! Pros: Brick on walls Cons: Everything else. Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere! more

West village find 3/2/2009

A friend and I stopped into Pasita to get a quick glass of wine and wound up staying for hours. The place has a relaxed fun atmosphere emphasized by Latin-inspired music and artwork. The staff is incredibly attentive and personable. Our waiter Ish was hilarious, and kept us laughing the whole night. The wine list is amazing - Del Plata Malbec is perfect if you're a red wine lover and the Verde y Blanco pizza was very tasty. Great for a night out with friends or an intimate date. Pros: wine list, friendly staff, affordable, great pizza Cons: Small space more

Fantastic thin-crust pizza, brick oven and candles 10/28/2008

SO DELISH! Cozy brick-walled restaurant with great thin-crust pizza and very fresh starter salads. Place has lots o' character. Once in a while they run out of something on the menu but that's the only critical thing I have to say about the place. Oh and they deliver lunch! more

So Cute / Relaxed and Delicious / Great Value 6/24/2008

I live nearby and walked by a bunch of times but never went in until my girlfriend suggested it. I LOVED IT! The staff is nice and helpful, and the decor is so cute--the antique painted brick, vintage chandeliers and posters are unique and fun! We split the spanish cheese plate (loved the blue cheese with honey) that came with fresh flatbread, and a delicious fresh salad with mango and grapefruit. We shared a bottle of fantastic Portuguese white wine (who knew?), recommended by the bartender. We had such a good time--and didn't break the bank either!\r \r Pros: Ambience, Wine, Food Cons: Seems to get very busy more

Great place to sip a glass of wine, hang out and snack 6/24/2008

I got stuck in a downpour and ducked into this unassuming little place. The bartender had a perfect balance of friendly and respectful, and he really knew about wine (I loved the Malbec Rose he suggested). He also steered me to the Chorizo pizza with shaved fennel--yummy! The place was not too too full, but had a certain easygoing ambience that is hard to find these days. A definite find. Pros: Wine, Ambience, Brick oven Pizzas Cons: Small, Could get crowded more

nice atmosphere; poor food 5/18/2008

I was excited to try Pasita given the editirial reivew on CitySearch; I was particularly craving the fried food. I went with a friend and we ordered three fried appetizers - the arepitas, the tequenos and the emapanaditas. These three appetizers were barely warmed, much less fried - the exteriors were flimsy and pale, no crunch or color, inside tepid. In a word - subpar. The service was also poor - we ordered a salad which never came. When we pointed this out and canceled the order, no one batted an eye, much less apologized. If you must go, go for drinks in a cute setting, but I do not recommend going for anything which would require subjecting yourself to the food or service. more

Great Food, Ambiance, Service.... 4/27/2008

A group of my friends and I ate here on a Sunday night and had the best time. The ambiance cannot be beat for a casual but stylish night in the West Village. The food is great. The service was perfect and the servers are friendly and take pride in their work. We felt very well taken care of and will definitely go back! Highly Recommend! more

Amazing wine list 2/28/2008

A cozy wine/pizza bar in the west village that won't break the bank. The wine list is amazing, and not at all traditional. I highly recommend this place if you love your wines. The food is also pretty good, and the pizzas are thin and crispy, and big enough for two to share! Pros: Wine List, Food, Price Cons: Small space more

Cute Find in the area 1/28/2008

It is small but very cozy. The wine list is probably one of the best I have ever seen. They are all Spanish or South American wines though, (try the Torrentes - if you like white wine). \r The food was very good. We had some appetizers and pizza. Thin crust with a variety of toppings. We tried the ""Champinon"" with artichoke hearts, mushrooms which was out of this world. But all the food there was really good. The empanadas were yummy. \r Highly recommended for a date or a group of people. Though, they can only sit about 40 people at a time. It is a small place. The servers were incredibly nice and helpful in selecting options. my new favortie place in the west village. Pros: AMAZING Wine list, yummy food Cons: small, waiting time more

Best Latin Wine! 6/14/2007

Infinito Malbec will give you an evening that truly endures. The Argentinian wine is extraordinary and the wines we tasted before choosing the bottle were also very good and made it difficult to choose.\r Beside the incredible wine from remote small vineyards, the wood burning oven produces melt in your mouth pizza!\r \r Everything we had was scrumptious. The staff was very accomodating to our 4-turn-into 7 party and kept us entertained while we waited for a larger table...\r A great location, near the meat packing district, but not IN it , made it easy to gather our troops at short notice.\r \r Pros: WINE LIST!! Cons: entrance is actually ON west 4th....but address says 8th ave more

My NEW FAVORITE PLACE! 5/16/2007

The wine was great. The pizza was AMAZING. The service was OUTSTANDING. I can't believe I just found this wonderful place. more

Great NYC neighborhood spot. Interesting wine list. Amazing view of the Empire State Building. 5/7/2007

I used to live in the west village and was back recently and stumbled into this little gem. A friend and I sat at the bar, right by the window for a couple of hours, sampled (perhaps too many!) of the fabulous wines on the list and had a total blast. We loved the pizzas we tried (""ropa vieja"" was my fave) and I had some questions about some of the wines and the bartender Charles was really nice and knowledgeable--not like one of those scary sommeliers with a ""cup"" necklace which I hate; more like a really cool friend with a great wine cellar. My friend (a die-hard New Yorker who took the window seat) was freaking out over the view of the Empire State Building. I did notice that the place st arted to get pretty packed (it was a Friday night) but that's to be expected, the word must be getting out. Anyway--a totally fabulous west village experience that made me want to move back!! Pros: Wine List, Ambience, Service Cons: Can get packed more

Highly Disappointing 4/1/2007

Small neighborhood joint in the west village but the owner Joel is very unprofessional. I planned a birthday party for a Sunday evening and he was deceitful about the agreed upon arrangements after numerous conversations. At the last minute when confronted with his inconsistency over the agreement, he tried cancelling everything after the party had already started. While the staff is fine, do not be fooled by the owners/management. Pros: Good for walk in Cons: Very dissatisfied with owner's conduct more

BEST HANDMADE PIZZA EVER... 1/14/2007

I SPENT NEW YEARS 2006-2007 HERE, AND IT WAS AWESOME. THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND THE FOOD GREAT.. THE CHEF MADE A SPECIAL HEART SHAPED PIZZA JUST FOR ME. LET ME TELL YOU THE PIZZA IS AMAZINGLY TASTY. YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO MISS EATING AT THIS PLACE AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE WINE, WHAT CAN I SAY BESIDES IT'S A GREAT PLACE TO EAT AT. Pros: RELAXING ATMOSPHERE WITH AN AWESOME STAFF... Cons: NONE, YOU WILL BE A FOOL IF YOU DON'T EAT HERE... more

Thoughtful staff, great place for a special night! 10/23/2006

My very wonderful friends planned a surprise birthday dinner for me here. The staff at Pasita went out of their way to make it perfect--they added my favorite wine to their wine list, and even made a dessert with that wine for the night. They printed up a dated birthday menu with all the specials on it--we all really felt like they gave us everything we wanted and more. On top of that, it's not too expensive, the new decor is beautiful, and the food is delicious. I might have to have my birthday dinner here every year. Pros: Staff, pizzas, decor more
