Lots of spooky things! 10/2/2006

We just made another jaunt out to Display and Costume. This is one of our first stops when starting our ramp up to Halloween. However, after stopping by this past weekend, I would highly recommend going during the week not the weekend especially when Halloween is around the corner. It was very crowded and will probably become more so as Halloween gets closer. However, they do have some great decorations, party supplies and costumes so it's well worth a trip out there even if you have to brave the crowds. more

Great place for Christmas 4/25/2006

This is a great source for Christmas decorations and Christmas villages. They have big displays and good prices on lots of things. I usually ignore the party/paper part of the store and just walk right back to the Christmas area that gets put up as early as August, I believe. more

I LOVE Display & Costume! 3/28/2006

This is THE place to go to fill kiddie birthday goodie bags. Toys R Us told me they had NO Harry Potter stuff "because there hasn't been a movie out in a few months"--losers! They had ten million Bratz toys, and no Potterbilia? Display & Costume coughed up 16 Potter-branded light-up "magic wands" for $1.49 apiece. I genuflect in their general direction! more

Random assortment of just what you need! 1/14/2006

No costume venture is complete without a trip to Display & Costume. I think they have a rental department, but they mostly cater to people like me who enjoy cobbling together their own costumes from various parts. They most recently saved my butt this past New Year's Eve by carrying fake Uzis. (I attended a James Bond-themed party.) The toy guns looked real enough that only minor modifications had to be made. Best of all, the Uzis have an awesome rat-a-tat sound effect. (NOTE: Toys R Us and other toy stores do not carry any guns other than Nerf or "ray gun"-type guns anymore because kids apparently get shot up by cops that think they are carrying real guns. Also, there's some issue with morals and teaching kids that guns are bad or something like that...) Display & Costume is definitely a one-stop shop and prices reflect that. Some things are cheap (fake Uzis) and others are not (fabric). They have a section in the back where you can buy fabric and assorted ribbons and other fabric novelties. Mostly, the store is a haven of accessories for almost any costume you can dream up. They also carry party supplies, including more unusual items like fake palm trees for your luau-themed parties. At Christmas, they have a whole room of elaborate Christmas decorations. Perhaps best of all, the store is located near the Northgate Mall, Pacific Fabrics, and Target, so you can always stop in at those other stores if you don't find everything you need! more

Party Needs Headquarters! 12/31/2005

Where else could I buy enough afros to outfit my family of six, butterfly party decorations, costume make-up, a discoball, and some rubber stamping supplies in one place?!?! No place other than Display & Costume! They have a wide variety of party supplies & even party rentals. It is also a great place to buy quality seasonal stuff at a great discount after a holiday. My only warning - that place is SCARY around Halloween. I wouldn't suggest taking small children in there at that time! more

Party STuff galore 12/31/2005

If you're having a theme party, this place should have what you need. Or costumes, or crafts for certain events. From tiny items to large, they should have it. Convenient at northgate, however, during halloween parking can be challenging. People are helpful if you have questions, you can wander this store for hours, its best to have a plan though when you go there. Fun stuff, specially Xmas and Halloween time. more

as we all know, perfect 12/29/2005

My boyfriend and I went for a 30s themed costume party, to pick up props and things. Within minutes I found a hair net and evening gloves, and he found a tommy gun and porkpie hat. We found lots of other things too that we wanted but couldn't really justify at the time. Planning on returning soon! more

1st Stop before your Halloween or Xmas party! 9/29/2005

This place is just incredible. They have any sort of party supply you could need... down to the obscure. It is a place to get the "foundation" for your party. I would go here before driving all over town wondering if certain party stores will have what you need. The prices are for the most part reaonable however you will find yourself spending alot because there is just too many good things to choose from. We have had several themed parties and have always been very happy to our buys at Display and Costume. more

The best Halloween store around 9/15/2005

Display and Costume is truly the best we've got in Seattle. I am a serious Halloween addict and no matter what my questions are (how do I make myself look frozen? how can I make little plaster fingers?), there's someone at D&C who can answer. A lot of their staff are knowledgable and are there year round, not just seasonally. If you've got a project you need some help with, this is the place to start. If they don't have what you need, they'll tell you where to get it. more

Fulfill your wildest costume or celebration needs 8/20/2005

Every time I go to Display and Costume, I can easily spend hours wandering the store, looking at party supplies, decorations, and costume pieces and accessories. This place is especially fun as the holidays approach--Halloween is a blast. You can easily put any costume you want together here--they carry bolts of fabric and crafting supplies, make-up and other items. They get amazing display items here too--they had a moving, breathing gargoyle there a few years ago for Halloween. If you need to do window displays or other decoration heavy work, DIsplay and Costume provides a wide variety of those materials as well. They also do prop rentals. The store can be a little hard to find the first time, and around holidays, parking can be a little tough. But those frustrations are all washed away looking at the sparklies. more

Costume Supplies You Won't Find Anywhere Else 8/20/2005

If you're the type that likes to go all out for Halloween, kids birthdays, etc. then Display and Costume is the place to buy your supplies. The store's emphasis is on stocking the individual supplies to make your creative vision come true. There are a few prepackaged costumes available, but Display and Costume is really geared toward shoppers who have an idea for how to compile the ingredients for their own costumes and displays. The store has hats, wigs, exotic fabrics, makeup, props and anything else you might need. If you need party supplies, Display and Costume also stocks a broad selection of seasonal as well as basic diposable tableware and accessories. more

Not just for Halloween... 8/17/2005

Display and Costume in Northgate is not just for Halloween even if it is the best place to go for Halloween costumes and house decorations. They also have a huge amount of party supplies for all occasions, birthdays, holidays, you name it. There are party favors, gift bags, gag gifts and helium balloons. It is a supermarket sized space filled with party supplies. Wow! more

Great Selection, But Can Be Pricey 8/17/2005

Display and Costume Supply is a costume and party supply store near the Northgate Mall. They carry a wide variety of costumes, from simple rubber masks and makeup to elaborate full body clothing costumes. If you can think of a party theme, they probably have plates, favors, and decorations in stock to match your desires. Employees are generally helpful throughout the store and usually courteous. Prices run a wide range from quite reasonable to unbelievably outrageous. The store has plenty of parking and excellent hours. There aren't too many other stores like it around town, so even if it is pricey, it may be your only bet unless you want to chance things on the internet. more
