Great music venue marred by poor customer service 9/29/2011

Great acts, great sound and space. Would've given a better review, but 3 things really suck: rip-off drink prices ($5 for a Shiner!), rude-ass bartenders, and having to go through C3, which means that a $15 ticket ends up costing $20.50 after fees are added. more

Worst rudest bartenders on Sixth Street 12/18/2010

On a Friday night, my wife and I and another couple walked in to the first floor bar to have a beer while the band upstairs was on a 15 minute break. This according to the greeters who invited us in. The bar was nearly empty. There may have been 4 other customers. As the other members of my party sat down, I walked up to the bar to get a round of drinks. The 2 female bartenders cut their eyes at me several times but appeared to be struggling with the bar register and neither of them offered to help me. Another guy came in and took a stool next to where I was standing and we joked about the poor service. After about 5 minutes of standing there, I semi-politely asked if I could perhaps get a beer. The waitress looked right at me and said ""No. We don't serve people with bad attitudes."" I explained to her that I had been standing there patiently for 5 minutes. She and the other computer illiterate bartender then told me there were other bars on Sixth Street who would serve people with bad attitudes. So I returned my money to my wallet and told my friends we were leaving. more

Worst Service Ever 5/27/2008

I went to see The Kills here on May 24th, 2008 and I got the worst customer service I've ever experienced from bartenders. I've never been so blatantly ignored by a bartener, and I'm a bartender myself, so I know what good service is, and I also know how to not be an annoying customer who deserves to be ignored a little. I was at the bar before the band started and didn't get a drink in my hand until the end of their 4th song, and the bar was NOT that busy since everyone was watching the band. If you see a skinny girl with dark straight hair who is bartending like she just did some heroin, don't even bother to try to get a drink from her. And the same goes for a guy with short hair and glass with a little paunch. These people look at ten times and still not serve you, no matter how nice you are or how much money is in your hand. If there's a lanky, skinny guy with long hair bartending just go straight to him, because he's cool and actually knows how to serve somebody. It's too bad he had to share all of his tips with the other two wastes of space that night. If not for him and the great set by The Kills, my night would have been very disappointing. I don't think I'll be returning to The Parish any time soon, and I dont recommend anybody else does unless you really want to see the band. Cons: service and the lack of air-conditioning more
