First I would like to say that I am the type of person that can ignore a lot. I have had countless incidents of bad customer service and have just looked past it. But for Aveda I have to say something.
The last time I scheduled an appointment with them it was the salon in Perkins Rowe. The night before my appointment my father called and there was a family emergency that I had to leave Baton Rouge for. Remembering that I had an appointment I set an alarm for 9:00 AM so that I would remember to call them to let them know I would not make my 12:00 appointment. The receptionist answered and told me that it was fine and she would let the stylist know I would not be able to come in. Later that day around 12:00 I received a call from the salon asking where I was. When I replied that I had called and cancelled they accused me of lying and said that they had no record of my message. When I replied with ""I'm really sorry but I did call."" the receptionist then hung up on me.
The second appointment I made was with the salon in the Mall of Louisiana. I went and loved my hair cut and when the stylist asked if I wanted to go ahead and schedule my next appointment for three months later, I said yes. That appointment was today. I have received over three text messages from them stating that my appointment was still on and I confirmed twice through text. But when I got there today and told the receptionist that I was there for my 10:00 appointment she told me that my stylist that I was suppose to see no longer worked there. I said ok, assuming that they had some one else and she replied that she could ""fit me in"" around 12:00. I took off work this morning so I could get it done early and so 12:00 would not work. When I told her that I had received confirmation texts she said ""oh yeah the text message thing doesn't really keep up."" WHAT? What is the point of having it? She also said that they have been trying to reach me but I had no missed calls, messages or texts letting me know anything except for the CONFIRMATION texts. Also I scheduled the appointment 3 months ago, they had plenty of time to get in touch with me.
The sad thing about all of it is I have always loved my hair cut from any stylist that I have gone to at an Aveda salon but I can not handle the lack of communication or the lack of caring about their customers. So Aveda lost me as a customer and if your thinking about going there just make sure that your appointment is actually scheduled.
