Paradise Hair Salon

I usually do not participate to review responses but the last review is really off-base. I have been getting my hair cut by the ""younger one"" for the last eight years and I will follow him wherever he goes. He is truly a professional and a good person. By the way, I am a real person who can clearly see and read the other reviews. Most of us actually know each other by face because we see each other now and then in the salon. When everyone writes such nice things and one person sticks out, it is obvious they have an internal problem. Anyway, without stooping down to that level, I am here to say how really wonderful this gentleman is and what a professional job he does. If you don't believe me then just go there one time to see for yourself and judge for yourself. I just can't stand when people write garbage about hard working, good people who are professional and intelligent. And by the way, GOD see's all so think about that. This establishment is a class act and the people who work there are super friendly and just pleasant to be around. What a GREAT experience I always have and enjoy to get my hair cut there. FIVE STARS all the way and would recommend to my family and friends! more

If I could give this dump zero stars I would. I cant even explain how horrible of a business this place is. I show up and show the guy (younger one) a picture of what I want, it takes him almost an hour to cut my hair because I keep telling him this isn't what I want, I want it shorter like the picture. After he is finalllllly finished my hair looked horrible nothing what I wanted. I had to have my girlfriend fix it when I got home.The reason I went to this place is because of the reviews I read on the Internet. After rereading the reviews and my personal experience I have come to the conclusion that its the owners that are writing the reviews not the customers, Every 5th review is a bad one and those are the customers. Do not go here, the younger man will butcher you and take forever to cut your hair. Also they have a TV in the ""salon"" that is for the two guys to watch if you are getting your hair cut. They face you the other way so you can not even enjoy the TV while your sitting there for almost an hour, all you can here is the sound of the horrible shows they watch. Overall I give you a 0-5 stars for my experience.....learn ENGLISH you live and work in AMERICA!!!!, and 0-5 stars for my haircut. My advise to you is to go to cosmetology school and learn how to run a real hair salon especially in NYC. I will never go back to this salon and my adise to you would be to stay away more

I had to attend a wedding, and was in desperate need of highlights. Unfortunately, my colorist was on vacation, and I decided to go to the Paradise Salon, which was near my job. Arthur not only colored my roots, and gave me amazing highlights, he also cut my hair. I was pleasantly surprised - my hair looked fabulous! I had a lot of compliments at the wedding. He definitely has more customers coming his way! more

My roommate and I moved from California to New York for jobs in banking and we lived in the building above the Paradise Hair Salon. We went to Paradise Hair Salon the first time because it was convenient but now we will travel across Manhattan to get our hair cut with Uri. He really knows how to cut hair and he remembers the way each of his customers like their hair cut. I have spoken with many people who get their hair cut with Uri and have heard nothing but good things. I have had frizzy wavy hair my whole life. Heard about the brazilian keratin treatment but everywhere I went the price was ridiculous. They did the brazilian without charging me an arm and leg . My hair is straight now even on humid rainy days. Pros: Best price around Cons: None so far more

I work about a block from Paradise and first went there when they opened. I always have trouble finding a place where i can get my hair cut that's not a $100 + salon and they know what their doing with curly hair. The guy who opened Paradise said he's been cutting hair for 20+ years, he takes his time, washes your hair, knows what he's doing and is inexpensive. if you're in the neighborhood go to Paradise, it's the best!! Pros: cuts curly hair VERY well Cons: let me know when you find one more

I've been following Yuriy around Manhattan for years, having first met him in a barber shop on the Upper East Side. After stints at two shops uptown I was glad to see that he finally opened his own shop. He takes his time, makes sure you're perfectly satisfied, and you can't beat the price. Even though I don't live anywhere near the neighborhood I still make the trip over to his shop at least once a month--ask for Yuriy and you won't be disappointed. Pros: Yuriy is a great barber--meticulous haircut Cons: Not close to my home, but worth it anyway more

I haven't gotten many shaves, but Yuriy didn't disappoint at all. Very relaxing, professional, good value. Recommended. more

I've been getting my hair cut for 25 years and I never had a better experience than I did at Paradise Hair Salon. This place is spotless and the service is excellent. My barber was very meticulous and it was definately a relaxing experience. The hot towel shave is a must here! I highly recommend it! Pros: Thumbs up more
