Editorial review from GrubHub 1/1/2014

The food was good and delivered on time. gnocchi was delicious. however they forgot one of my dishes (which then took almost another hour for them to deliver, but they were apologetic about it) and the food was poorly situated in the containers and not very warm. If i had to order again I would just get the gnocchi. more

Not terrible, but disappointing overall. Pappardelle was okay - a little overcooked - but the oxtail ragu tasted like Ragu spaghetti sauce. Might try again with a different dish, but certainly nothing to write home about. more

Amazing Brunch 3/6/2010

I came here once for their dinner. It was great. But I just had their brunch prix-fixe and it is fabulous! I got the Mushroom Omlette with cheese and home fries and Greek Salad. The prix-fixe came with Coffee or Tea, and fresh squeezed OJ, or Mimosa. It is only $12 but they gave you a lot of food! My boyfriend got the caramelized Apple Pancakes, which came with tons fresh apples, blueberries, and melons. He couldn't even finish his plate. Pros: Excellent food and friendly service more

Paprika 5/2/2009

As and East Villiage resident from 2005-2008 I frequented this place of brunch ad nasuem, its the bomb. they used to do coffee, oj and brunch plate for about $10.80 I think. While they just increased it to $13.95 you're still receiving exceptional valuefor ze buck. mushroom fontina cheese omelette is off the charts, the benedict on crusty italian bread is a total winner. pancake/french toast stuff also strong while not really my cup of tea. I miss the hell out of this place. thank you. Pros: Sterling Brunch Cons: Haven't been able to go since I moved to BK more

Worth the Wait 2/13/2009

i made dinner reservations for 3 people at 8:30 on a friday night. i got there first, and they said the whole party needed to be there to be seated, which was understandable. he pointed to the table we would be getting and he held graciously held it till 9 and finally had to give it away. i found this very generous because there was about 15 people crowded in this small space waiting for a table. when my full party arrived, we stood at the bar and of course had to wait. after 15 minutes, the bartender was so nice and gave us 3 glasses of complimentary prosecco champagne. after we were seated and ordered, he came over to refill our champagne. while the food was good, i must compliment the service as being even better, considering how they treated us. more

DELECTABLE AUTHENTIC ITALIAN NOT TO BE MISSED! 9/26/2008

This Gem in the heart of the East Village has what i would consider some of the most unique and delectable Italian dishes i have ever tasted. The LOBSTER RAVIOLI is out of this world and i cannot even begin to rave enough about the succulent and rich Peppardelle with Oxtail. i have been to the restaurant several times and along with the freshest pasta i have ever had the wait staff creates a relaxed atmosphere and are as friendly and welcoming as they are attentive. I was there on Friday for dinner, in my favorite table by the window and my waitress was unbelievable sweet and it turned out to be one of the best nights dining out i ever had. Also and this is big statement, BEST BRUNCH IN THE CITY! No joke for next to nothing you will have the best eggs benedict you have ever had. I don't know where the bacon comes from but it's a slice of heaven. Each dish comes with the most wonderful fresh greens you could ever wish for and with an inclusion of a mimosa, freshly squeezed OJ and a great cup of coffee you would be doing yourself a disservice not to visit this restaurant. on a saturday or sunday morning. THREE WORDS: AUTHENTIC, DELICIOUS and COMFORTABLE! Anyone who bitches about an experience here has issues that a require greater attention than a meal. Eat here, Treat Yourself Right! Oh yeah, TRY THE SOUFLEE! Pros: Delicious and unique dishes! Great Ambience! Cons: None! more

Great atmosphere and Angela (our server) is the best! 7/31/2008

I've been to Paprika serveral times in the past year and I'm always extremely happy with my meal and the service. Angela is always our server and treats us like old friends. We all laugh and talk (yes the place can get quite loud) and share wonderful food and great wine. Brunch is wonderful - the potatoes are fantastic! The flank steak is incredibly tender and flavorful along with the mashed potatoes! Wow! And the desserts are so rich its easy to share! I plan on returning in the next week or so for another great evening. I'm so glad I was turned on to this gem! Pros: Ambiance, really nice waitstaff. Cons: Gets crowded, may have to wait a bit to be seated. Also, its the city so parking may be a challenge. more

It might just become my regular brunch place! 7/2/2008

This place is UNBELIEVABLE! I have been a couple of times for their wonderful pre-fixed brunch and I have been thrilled every time. Their coffee is stupendous, their mimosas are fabulous. Even better is their homemade, fresh blueberry pancakes topped with a mountain of fruit. Also their goat cheese and spinach omelette is mouth watering. They put a tons of goat cheese and spinach, I just find myself scrapping the plate because I can't get enough! The best part is I never feel gross and full after their meals, I always feel like i had a healthy, well portioned brunch. How great. I love this place! Pros: AMAZING FOOD. and great price (brunch) Cons: absolutely none. more

Wonderful Surprise! 3/21/2008

Loved this place! Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I had the meatballs with swiss chard and mashed potatoes, which were excellent. The rest of my friends had the salmon, red snapper and lamb chops. The wait staff was very attentive and didn't rush us even though two of my friends were almost an hour late. There was only one negative and it was tiny. Some of the slices of bread that were put on the table were slightly charred on the edges. Some people like it like that, but I don't. I would definitely go back. more

My Favorite Italian Food Spot 3/19/2008

I have been coming to Paprika for years. Whether it's for a birthday party or eating out with friends, this restaurant is cozy, affordable and I LOVE the food! I bring all my friends here and whenever anyone wants to do Italian, I always suggest this place. The waitresses are always nice and informative.\r \r Recently, they changed the olive oil, which my friends and I absolutely adored, and it's not as good. A few times, a pasta suace was a bit too salty, but those are rare instances. I am surprised that Paprika is not written about more. more

Great neighborhood spot 3/12/2008

Been here twice for brunch and just got back from dinner at Paprika. The space is very cute, cozy without being too small. Everything at dinner was very good-to start roasted corn polenta was extremely rich and delicious, and Paprika's ""take"" on eggplant parmesan with a touch of pesto was delicious and surpisingly inventive. I had a special for my entree-veal ravioli with a sage and butter sauce, delicious, just the right size. Two excellent glasses of wine were only 7 dollars a piece, and the entire meal was priced very reasonably given the quality and portion size. Overall a great spot; prices are right, execution is on point and the food is just different enough from traditional Italian so that you aren't bored. Service was kind, not the most attentive but ok. Try the eggs benedict at brunch! Pros: Food, value, ambience Cons: bread is really crusty, but that's about it more

Great Prices, Good Food! 10/8/2007

I went to Paprika Saturday night, and the atmosphere was a nice little escape from the busy St. Marks, prices were really good, and the food was good as well. Lobster Ravoli was excellent! Pros: Great value Cons: Kitchen closes at 11:30 pretty early for NYC more
