Panera Bread is a good place for lunch. You can order a sandwich, salad, soup, or you can pick two of those and have a half sandwich with half an order of soup for like $6.50. It'...

Mediocre At Best 3/12/2011

Good: The food was relatively cheap for what it was, and the pastries were amazing. Some of the best cookies I've ever had that didn't come from my own oven. Odd soda selection too - some cool stuff you don't see elsewhere.. Bad: There was a large staff, at least five registers, but only two people ringing and neither of them had any grasp of the english language. I don't like waiting when there are employees hanging around chatting and I have to repeat a simple order three times to have it understood by the staff. They were VERY pushy about the Panera "card" too but I couldn't get a straight answer about what it was (I later discovered from a sign in the store that it was a free rewards card that earns you drinks and snacks).. Improvements: The store is poorly organized; theres a bottleneck at the door which blocks the main registers when there's more than one person at the pastry counter. Also they need a smaller more attentive staff that is more capable of communicating with the customer - if you just cut bread it's ok to not "get" the language but if your job is communication you better learn know how to do it.. Other: I'll stop by for just a soda and a snack, but the place is just too crowded and difficult to navigate to make it an option for a sit-down lunch.. more

Panera Bread 3/25/2006

Panera has the ambiance of an old-world cafe, where you can enjoy a cup of gourmet coffee and delicious pastry, while chatting with friends at the numerous tables, or enjoying a quiet read. The pastries are large and delicious, and priced comparably with other establishments like Au Bon Pain, etc. There is also a good selection of gourmet coffees. The artisan breads, however, were a great disappointment. I was expecting a high-quality bread on par with the delicious pastries, but the bread was quite rubbery, and very expensive. Come here to enjoy a nice afternoon snack, but, when it comes to the bread, please eat cake! more

Not Atkins Friendly, but Yummy 3/22/2006

Quite an array of pastries and breads! The sticky buns are pretty good, and lots of the cakes and cookies look good. The apple pie is pretty good, too, though a little skimpy on the portion. It would be nice if they had a better selection of breakfast sandwiches (eggy things), and some more soups would come in handy, too. They have all the fixins for coffees and teas like a Starbucks does. The location is big with lots of comfortable tables. Service can be a bit slow, but that seems to be since all the sandwiches are made to order. The service is friendly. more

Tasty bread .. 3/22/2006

Panera Bread is a good place for lunch. You can order a sandwich, salad, soup, or you can pick two of those and have a half sandwich with half an order of soup for like $6.50. It's a good deal. They have a bunch of sandwiches with turkey, chicken, and roast beef. They also have panini's with lots of cheese. They don't have wraps however. They also don't have any of the crispy chicken, it's mostly grilled. The best part of the sandwich is usually the bread. It's just that good. I usually order a loaf to have a slice of toast in the morning. They have multigrain, sesame, french baguette, and cinnimon raisin. They are all fresh and rich. The lattes are always made to order, and their iced green tea is pretty good but kind of on the sweet side. Overall, I'd go to Panera Bread once a week, but no more because of the high calorie content. more

good but overrated 12/29/2005

I think Panera Bread is good but over-rated. They could offer the same items for a much smaller price tag, given that they are not a small privately owned shop. The fresh baked bread is very good, but not any better than the artisan breads one can pick up at the supermarket. They sandwiches are better than adequte and the coffee is better than fair. The iced green tea would be wonderful, if it weren't pre-sweetened. However, the line of dried teas that they sell "Republic of Tea" is quite wonderful. more

Pricey, but Tasty 8/18/2005

This is an excellent place to grab a quick lunch, or a sweet treat. It is always packed, but the lines move quickly, and with some patience you can get a table. This is also one of my favorite Panera's because they always have the Baked Potato Soup. And for a treat the Chocolate Chip Cookies are to die for! On a lighter note, the Strawberry Mandarin Salad is refreshing and delicious. more
