Palomar College 3/19/2010

You can tell by the big ?P? on the hill behind the campus you are getting close to Palomar. I love the college. It is big enough, with a strong curriculum to teach you enough for a lifetime. I have had the best and the worst teacher in my college career, both the same year at Palomar. The thing I value the most is that I will never know everything, just enough to realize that I will go on studying something for the rest of my life. more

Excellent Junior College 11/14/2005

I went to Palomar College for 3 years before transferring to UCSD. I had a very good experience there. They have an excellent class selection and most of the teachers seemed to care about the students. The campus was easy to get to, and was in a nicer location than some of the other junior college in San Diego. more

Opportunities For All 5/1/2005

As the cost of living escalates in San Diego Country, many more college students are turning to community colleges for "general education" with intent to transfer to a 4-year institution after 60 units have been obtained. Affordable, especially when compared to what students in other states pay. Education quality ranges from moderate to excellent, depending upon subject matter and instructor involvement. Parking is do-able but can be hectic if one does not leave enough time before racing to class. Large variety of course offerings that cater to a wide range of interests and specializations. Good bet for recent high school grads, those who wish to puruse a trade such as woodworking or mixed media, or those who wish to sharpen their skills for a current employer. Great music and graphics program. Low on student involvement in clubs. more

Junior College 3/29/2005

This is the best Junior College in San Diego County. Palomar College Main Campus is located in San Marcos, but has education centers through out San Diego County. What I like most about Palomar College is the support they have for the students. I worked there for a couple of years and really got to know alot of the counselors. R.O.P. classes are also offerd at Palomar for those who want to go straight into a trade. Palomar also has a very nice lap pool, gym, and track to keep fit. PROS: many classes to chose from CONS: the good ones fill fast more

Editorial review from Insider Pages 2/1/2005

We stayed here while doing a conference for a group of about 30. The staff was helpful (they give you fresh cookies when you check in. yummy). These options that Mesa, but its the CC for the North County. Its a great place to pick up a class in writing or something you have always been wanting to learn or know about. You might be older than the ugrad students, but you can always keep learning. The folks in the offices are fairly helpful and its a small enough campus to get around easily. I believe they have extension sites in Escondido and Camp Pendleton. more
