Walk on by 8/7/2011

I have been to the Palm in DC and NYC ...they were awesome... so I was anxious to try the one in Atlanta. I ordered the linguine with clam sauce and my fiance ordered a steak. His steak was dry and was quite small. The linguine with clam sauce was a very small portion and had very few clams and had absolutely NO FLAVOR!!! I told them simply to take it off the check -- as far as I was concerned, it was an insult to my intelligence. The manager insisted on fixing the dish. When he brought it back, there were a few more clams in it but the dish was cold. AND they charged close to $4 for an 8 ounce bottle of Coke. There are far too many excellent places in Atlanta to dine and this DEFINITELY IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!!! more

Abysmal 6/28/2011

Wow, what a lot of hype about absolutely nothing. This was my first and last visit. I will admit that the service was excellent but there was nothing else about that place that I could recommend. Everything was very expensive and I can?t imagine, based on what I ate, why anyone would want to pay that much. I had the lobster for two special. The salad was huge and hard to eat and the lobster was overcooked and dry. Whatever they were serving as butter wasn?t. It was tasteless oil. We got two sides?brussel sprouts, also tasteless and potatoes au gratin which was frankly the best part of the meal. I like good food and I don?t mind paying for it but this was terrible food ridiculously priced. Don?t even bother. more

Always good 2/10/2009

Food was great, service great. Been to this locationa and in Tampa, FL always a good meal. We were celebrating my daughters 14th birthday and everything went great. She had the lobster bisque and loved it. I had the veal and my husband had Filet. All the sides are great. I ordered a Lemon drop martini and I got something else. Waiter was quick to take it away and bring what I ordered. Pros: Great food Cons: Price more

Hands Down!! 5/26/2008

This place is amazing. The wait staff is very gracious and attentive. I was really impressed when we told the waiter it was our first time. We were ""virgins"" at The Palm. The manager came over and gave us a card, introduced herself, and gave us a free appetizer. As if that wasn't enough...the wine was excellent and the lobster was to die fore. Nice and juicy!!! Everything was absolutely the best down to the little figures drawn on the wall which gives it a playful atmosphere. You have to try it and so worth the money!!! Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

best all around dining experience 5/12/2008

i took my wife and her parents to the Palm for her birthday lunch and had one of the best meals of my life. the service was very attentive and personal. it was our first time dining there and they welcomed us with smiles and a round of cocktails. We ordered off the dinner menu, everything was brought out on time and was cooked perfectly. it was obvious they take pride in their business. Worth every penny. Pros: professional and friendly more

THERES NO PLACE BETTER!!! 5/8/2008

Superb!!! not much more that can be said. Took my family to eat there last night. I was inpressed by the professionalism of the staff from the moment i walked in the door. A warm greeting at the door. The waiter was quick whitted and made us feel invited. I was also impressed when he paid attention to my children and made them involved at the table. Jimmy was his name. He brought out a 6lb lobster for the kids to see, (which amazed us!!) Definately will be back SOON!!! Thanks To everyone at the Palm.. Pros: Service, Ambience, Stiff drinks more

Best Lobster Dining In ATL! Great Martini's & Service! 12/17/2006

We've eaten at the orgional Palm in NYC many times. And we were so excited when an Atlanta branch opened in the now defunct SwissHotel, here many years ago. And it had been maniy years since we dropped in, but today was the day to celebrate the end of Holiday Shopping. The place has been refreshed, and now has a beautiful new enclosed patio, overlooking Peachtree. Of course, for me it was a three pound broiled lobster, with crab meat stuffing. Honestly, I'm going to go on a died in January '07. My partner had his favorite Veal Piccata. We still love the framed drawings on the walls, of the famous, and not so famous. Food, Martini's, and Service are all top notch. Bring the Black American Express! Pros: Wonderful Fresh Lobster's, Martini's, and Service! Cons: Bring Lots Of Moo-La! more

Do not waste your time or money 1/4/2006

This restaurant is many things but not upscale dining. I ordered the salmon when it was brought out it was rubber when asked for another I got an eye roll. Someone else ordered a med/rare steak that would considered well when brought to the table. We ordered a bottle of wine and about 15 minutes later it arrived. Our table had a server, buser, food runner and bread person waiting on us but yet we had to ask for refills for everything. Pros: Average Cosmo Cons: Horrible service, Horrible food, waste of money more

If you want Steak, go somewhere else 10/25/2005

Went to the Palm as a family outing. The once a year get together, not at this place again, was dampened by the slow and inattentive service. The atmosphere was stale, dead and cold. No one in our party of six had a good meal and probably will not to return. Steaks were ok but very over priced, as was everything else. If you want to impress someone, go somewhere else. Cons: Too expensive, Cold, unfriendly more

GOOD, REALLY GOOD 6/9/2004

I really like this restaurant. Food, service, ambience all are wonderful. Must have-mashed potato, fried onion, asparagus. Lobster and steak is unbeatable. more

Great Lunch 12/10/2002

I had lunch at Palm and had one of the best pieces of beef I had ever tasted. It was the sliced filet au poivre on a bed of mashed potatoes. At $15 it was a bargain. I must say the soup, entree, and dessert were top-notch. I found the caricatures painted on the walls to be entertaining, for an Applebee's, but not for a place like Palm. Pros: great steak, great dessert, good service Cons: "cheesey" atmosphere more

Fabulous Palm 10/15/2002

The Palm is famous for their lobster and they sure held true to that honor. I've lived in Atlanta all my life and have never been so satisfied with my dinner. More than enough portions at a reasonable price...I'm glad I got the chance to eat there. more

Best place to never finish a meal... 10/14/2002

The Palm is tops with it's incredible service and food. Everything was up to par! You definatley get what you pay for...and more. Biggest meal in Atlanta for the price. If it's your first time...and they know this...they usually make a big fuss over you. Pros: Great Service more

Overrated 7/17/2002

If you want a good steak go to Chops or Bones. This place is more expensive than either, and neither the service nor the food holds a candle to the two restaurants listed above. It is OK, but the steak I had was maybe worth $20, not $40 like I paid. The service wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't at the level of fine dining, like you are paying for. Cons: overpriced more

Kill the Meat Dead. 6/12/2002

I'm from NY. I've eaten at the original Palm a handful of times in the past 12 years. And loved it. So when business brought me to the Swissotel, I was looking forward to dinner at the Palm. It was lousy. The medium-rare steak was overcooked. The giant onion loaf that maitre d' brought us as a deep-fried consolation prize for waiting an eternity for our dinner was greasy and tasteless. It's a chain, with all the charmlessness and hokery that implies. The creamed spinach was fab, though. If you go, sit at the bar and order a salad. The bartenders are wonderful. more
