I love this place, they have so much variety of dishes! Everything is way so good!! Great place to do family style and share! Pros: Variety of delicious dishes

Worst

Thai food is one of my favorite, and I have had been to many thai restaurant. I have to admit I'm a bit picky when it comes to food. I ordered the Coconut soup with chicken, and...

Great Thai food and and entertaining Thai Elvis! 3/17/2006

I just had my birthday dinner there a few weeks ago and the food was great, service was pretty good considering the size of our party, and the Thai Elvis on Saturdays is very entertaining. The valet parking connected to the restaurant is also really convenient. The only minor downfall is that it's hard to try and reserve a table for more than twelve at the restaurant but the staff was still very accomadating. All my friends loved it!! Pros: Thai food, Elvis, Parking Cons: big parties more

delicious thai food 3/3/2006

now i don't know exactly about what is ""authentic"" or what isn't. All i know is that i ordered the pad see-ew and it was exquisite. Tasted very fresh and flavorful. The ambience isn't anything special, but if you want very tasty thai very cheap, give palms a try. Pros: flavorful food, good prices Cons: minimal ambiance more

Elvis and Great Thai Food... who knew? 2/5/2006

who'd think that Elvis and Thai food would go so well together! The food here is really amazing... my wife and i love it everytime you go. and the most amazing thing is that it's serves so quickly. they've got a great system going. one of the best values in la... but can be very crowded Pros: Tasty Food, Fun, Price Cons: Crowded more

Thai Elvis is adorable and the food is amazing!!! 1/9/2006

I love this place. I frequented the old venue, and while I miss its dank-darkness, the new location is much nicer: larger and more show time! First of all the, the food is incredible. They have a HUGE selection of authentic Thai (pad thai is good, but there's SO much more to life guys). The service is high-throughput style, so don't expect the wait staff to dote on you--they want to get you in and out! If you can stand the pressure, hang out for a while because Thai Elvis is completely adorable! Close your eyes: it's Elvis. Open your eyes: it's a cute little Thai guy in floods and platforms! Plus there are other singers like the guy with the sparkle shirt who sings falsetto bee gees tunes one minute and deep Louis Armstrong tunes the next. This is somewhere EVERYONE should go. I'm taking my parents this weekend! Pros: Thai Elvis, Great Food, Inexpensive Cons: Too Bright, Can be crowded more

INCOMPENTENT WAITERS/SERVICE!!! 11/24/2005

The waiters are incompetent! We went when the restaurant opened and were the first ones there but four other parties received their food before us (same order). We waited 30 minutes and complained to several staff members and still nobody brought us our food. When we asked the staff to speak to the manager, they ignored us and pretended there was no manager/supervisor available. When I called the restaurant back three days in a row, they never bothered to call me back. Only come here if you're wanting to have a good fight! Cons: BAD MANAGEMENT, FOOD NEVER SHOWED UP, INCOMPETENT STAFF more

Great food in a cafeteria setting 11/21/2005

We had a large party, which caused some difficulty with the host. But once we got out food, we forgot everything. There were 10 of us and we all tried everything. It was delicious. The shrimp hot pot was awesome. The garlic chicken very garlicky. And the pineapple friend rice was delicious. Food was cheap, as were the beers Biggest downside is the atmosphere. It's loud and too bright - very much like a high school cafeteria. One of the reasons we went was to see Thai Elvis, whcih was cool. But were were seated too far away and could barely hear anything. Overall, food great. Atmosphere not so great. Pros: great food, inexpensive, wide selection Cons: too bright, too noisy, too rushed more

Good value. Good entertainment. 11/5/2005

I come here often as the food and the entertainment are terrific. I've never had a bad experience here. The prices are extremely reasonable and affordable. i would definitely come again and again. The Mango and sticky rice is awesome! more

I LOVE THIS PLACE 11/1/2005

I've been coming to Palms for over 5 yrs. now. Everytime I have gone there, I've have nothing but a pleasant experience. Absolutely tasty Thai food, great entertainment (Thai Elvis rocks!), and great prices. I've turned into a lifelong customer! Pros: Pad Thai, Cheap Prices, Thai Elvis Cons: Hollywood Blvd., Parking, Can get crowded more

HORRIBLE!! Not recommended! 9/23/2005

You call this Thai food? This is below average. Would not recommend coming here. The food is not authentic and the service is horrible! Cons: Horrible Food, Bad Service more

David Lynch movie in real life. 8/15/2005

This place is awesome in that, ""is this for real"" kind of way. The food is great. Sometimes a bit greasy. The performances make the place. Pros: Good Eats more

What happened????? 7/26/2005

We loved the old Palms Thai, but they moved to a shiny neon mall spot in east Hollywood. The ambieance is gone, it was ridiculously crowded, and the service was beyond terrible. It was so loud that our waitress was screaming into her headpiece, and they still couldn't hear her. Forget about having a conversation. We were with a group of 6 - it took us 15 minutes to get our drinks, then half the entrees arrived before we received our appetizers. We waited another 10 minutes for the other entrees. We ordered another round of drinks and the hostess came over and said ""We need to turn over your table, so can you wrap it up?""!!! We had only been there for about an hour, and were still waiting for our order! Food's still good, but there are plenty of better Thai restaurants in LA without the hassle. Pros: food, cheap Cons: awful service, too crowded, too loud more

don't come in with kids!!! 7/10/2005

let me tell you this... you couldn't find any more snotty service staff than this place!!! they just lost a regular customer!!! Cons: to stuck up service ! more

Very overrated 6/23/2005

Heard a lot of good things bout this restaurant and was happy to wait 40 minutes until we got seated. Ordered our usual Tom-Yam-Kung, Pineapple fried rice, Beef Salad and Pad Thai. Pineapple fried rice and beef salad were terrible, tom-yum-kung was okay and pad thai was the only thing delicious. The wait was not worth it at all. Pros: Pad Thai Cons: Food in general, Long Wait more

My Favorite Restaurant! 5/31/2005

My favorite restaurant! Thai food is my favorite food and this is my favorite restaurant. Pros: Great Thai Food Cons: Crowded more

Forget Elvis - the FOOD is Phenomenal! 5/18/2005

Yeah, the Thai Elvis is as talented as he is incongruous, but the real star of Palms is the food. My girlfriend is Thai which means I've eaten at every imaginable Thai restaurant in the LA area, and nothing even comes close to Palms for quality, freshness and variety. The duck curry absolutely blows me away, the Tom Yum seafood soup (all of their soups, really,) is a whole world of flavor. Thai food is among the healthiest ethnic cuisines, so while you will walk out of Palms stuffed, you will not pay for it with a destroyed diet or the kind of cholestrol and greasy junk that will lay you on a slab later in life. I could eat here every day and never get sick of it. The only downside: it's always packed. In June 2005 they're moving a mile west, so the new digs should be bigger. Pros: Phenomenal food, Reasonable prices, A Talented Thai Elvis Cons: Usu. crowded & noisy, Oktoberfest seating, Cash only more

Best Thai restaurant in SoCal 3/7/2005

I love this place! Me and my girlfriend drop in every time we hunger for some authentic thai food. Prices are more than affordable and the food is fantastic. I recommend the combination fried rice, pad thai, deep fried trout with mango salsa, crying tiger(bbq beef), spicy beef salad, wild things(spicy beef in lime and garlic), seafood hotpot...you basically can't go wrong with anything you order. Anyhow, I think they are moving to the corner of Bronson and Hollywood supposedly this month (March 2005)...I recommend calling before visiting the current address seen. Lets see if they keep it up at their new location. Pros: Food, Entertainment, Price Cons: Parking more

thai elvis rocks. 2/17/2005

I took a friend from out of town here some time ago, and he still asks if I've ever been back. The Thai Elvis is very impressive -- spot on, with some songs. The food is good and interesting: try the Palm juice if you're looking for something different. Great, friendly staff and waiters. Laid-back. Pros: thai elvis, food, staff Cons: can be crowded more

RAD! 1/10/2005

This place is so cool. Pad Thai is awesome - not dry at all, the entertainment is hilarious (and you'll realize after the novelty wears off is actually quite good) more

Fantastic food!!! 12/12/2004

The best thai food that i've ever had! Beware, this place is so good...it'll spoil thai food at other restaurants! Very flavorful and fresh. Highly recommend the papaya salad, shrimp tom yum soup, steamed fish, vegetable dishes, curry dishes,...it's all good!!!! It is so worth the wait. Pros: Flavorful and fresh, quick service, live music more

Yummy spicy Thai 11/1/2004

Palms Thai serves yummy food at cheap prices. Can't comment on the authenticity as I'm not Thai. I love to go there because when you ask for dishes spicy, they actually make them spicy! I would recommend the spicy beef salad, shrimp salad, spicy shrimp fried rice, steamed whole fish, chinese broccoli w/oyster sauce, and the pad thai. They have cheap lunch specials too, under $5, until 5:00 p.m. Pros: Inexpensive, Fast, Clean more
