Beautiful park along the river. Great trails for both walking and horse back riding (yes - you can take your horse to this park!). Camp grounds and many areas to stop and have a picnic. Outdoor fire pits/grills at many picnic areas. Many port-a-johnnys throughout the park. Very beautiful. Home of many bald eagles! more

State Park 7/15/2005

This is a beautiful state park. I love walking the trails and enjoying the peace and quiet. It is a very large park. They have pavilions for picnics or you can just throw down a blanket in a shady spot. There is an area for Frisbee golf too. There is ample parking throughout the park. Be sure to go down to see the bluffs at the river edge. more

Beautiful Local State Park 7/14/2005

This is a beautiful park that the Cedar River flows through. It is located in Linn County just west of Mount Vernon. This park is 840 acres. There are big river bluffs and deep ravines. You will enjoy a variety of wildflowers, wildlife and lots of hardwood trees. You will also find lots of fossils along the river in the rocks. This is a great place to take the kids for field trip. There are also areas for picnics and campfires. You have to remember to carry out your own trash. more
