Ok, well..I stayed at the palace inn on scott street, the one across from the university of houston, and the place sucked big time! The day and night office ppl were unfriendly and rude. The rooms, apparently all of them, reek of smoke. they are high considering what you get, 41$ a night. They dont have any variations in the bedroom choices. You get a king size bedroom for 41 bucks and that is ur only option. And like i said, they all are smoking rooms apparently. The decor of the rooms is interesting. They all have blacklights in them (the ones i stayed in at least). There scenic paintings on the wall. Something odd and ammusing about the place is...the tv's are tuned into a 24 hr ""adult"" channel all day. Its the default channel that comes on regardless of what channel u turned it off, on. So, you turn on the tele, and first thing u hear and see is some woman getting f*c*e*. Anyways, overall, stay away from this place if u can. Its a waste of your money, big time. They also do not have any services like free breakfast. No vending machines except one soda machine. all outside rooms. gets kinda loud at night sometimes with people running around the parking lot doing whatever they're doing.
Pros: across the street from UH
Cons: everything else
