Excellent Seafood 8/22/2009

I am a seafood aficionado and have been to Pacific House several times. The fish and ingredients are fresh and tasty. The food was excellent; the menu is creative and diverse. The presentation and attention to detail is incredible. Service was very good and the owner, Ben Nunez was onsite, greeting customers, and asking for feedback. A delightful experience! Karen Pros: Fresh and tasty Cons: No drawbacks more

Surprisingly Good 8/22/2009

The environment was really nice, I have been there three times and it is not even close to my house. The owner came out and introduced himself as well as the chef did. They were very welcoming and very nice people overall. I really enjoy the different kind of oysters they have, I also enjoyed the fish tacos, ceviche, and every plate I have shared with my friends has been very tasty. The desserts are to die for. The tres leches cake is amazing. The quality of the food could be compared with the Portland City Grill which if you have not visited yet you should, because it is another great place. With the difference that the prices are reasonable. It is a good place to enjoy a good quality meal with a fixed budget. If you are out by Tillamook area make a point to stop at this place you will not regret it. Pros: Good Service Good Quality Food more

high value for your taste buds and your pocket 8/22/2009

We stopped by for lunch upon arrival in Tillamook for the week end. Being in a vacation mode for that week end I wanted to try something new in town. I am verry happy to have found this place! So happy in fact that we ate the rest of our meals out only at the Pacific House after checking menues and prices in the surrounding area as we toured.\r \r As to service, it started with a cheerfull hostess (though I haven't seen any that were not). The ambiance connoted cleanliness, simplicity and friendliness with a blend of cultures at peace.\r \r The service continued with a very knolegeble waitress that was highly capable of describing the options from the menue. I noticed that the prices were totally fair yet to be verified of course, as to portion size, presentation and overall quality as base criteria. All of the above were verified by the end of the lunch.\r \r The service continued with a visit from the chef at our table. I had noticed the chef making rounds elsewhere. I was astounded at the fact that our chef and her su chef were ex employees of the Heathman Hotel in Portland. I couldn't believe that I had been given a great culinary experience at such an affordable price! \r \r The food was delicoius and carefully prepared. Did I already mention delicious? Only well trained and experienced chefs are capable of obtaining this level of preparation and presentation. Such a gift to the area! Such a great way to round out the service provided by management.\r \r The spirit of adventure in the way of variety and local's suggestions prompted me to scout out other area restaurants. I was not impressed after reading some menues and putting up with obnoxious kitchen odors while doing so. Needless to say I happily ended up at the Pacific for the next meals and was equally impressed every time.\r \r Pros: friendly service, easy access, delicius food Cons: no view of the bay more

Good food in a small town 8/22/2009

I have been to Pacific House two times now. Both times I have had a very good experience. The oysters which we decided to try the first time we got there were amazing and the second time we went he just had to get them one more time. The tylapia is very good as well it is served as it would be in a restaurant right besides the beach. They give you the whole fish sitting in a plate, it was delicious. Both times the cooks have come out and checked up on our meal, and they are really friendly people. I would recommend you anyone to go check it out sometime. Pros: Tasty oysters and great Tylapia Cons: A little small more

It's a wait and see 8/20/2009

My husband I have visited Pacific House twice. The first time was around 2:00 pm and their gas line was broken. We were able to order salads. I had the cobb salad on field greens; it was good but the greens weren't hardy enough to support the rest of the ingredients. My husband had a crab caesar salad. He enjoyed it but felt it was overpriced for the amount of crab on the salad.\r The second time we visited was in the evening. We requested fish and chips made with halibut. The fries were terrific but the fish was overcooked; flat and dry and the breading was tough. The service was poor; no additional water was offered. We did remark to the server about the quality of the fish and no effort was made to contact us regarding our remarks. I will have to seriously think about revisiting the Pacific House. Pros: Convenient, friendly management Cons: Food is mediocre; service spotty more
