You've GOT to be kidding. Although, for the money, their service and steak is acceptable, how can they be in the top ten? This shows how BAD the restaurants are and/or how lacking...

Great food made better by SUPER service 2/16/2009

It has been awhile since we visited Outback. Great food at a value price. This time Jenny or Jennifer was our waitress. No corny down under lingo, just great service. She made us feel welcome and had great suggestions. Bubbly and happy. After a hard day I like that. more

Call-ahead seating was definitely worth it! 10/19/2008

I had no idea the Outback Steakhouse in Sandy was so popular. We got there at 6:30 on a Friday night and the wait was already an hour. We had called ahead to get on the seating list, which ended up cutting our wait down to about 20 minutes. \r \r The waiting area inside is pretty small. We were there in mid-October, and luckily on a night that was warm enough to wait outside, but if you?re going in the middle of winter, you may want to take that into consideration.\r \r The food wasn?t the best I?ve had but it wasn?t the worst, and for a large restaurant chain it was about what you?d expect. Our server was attentive & charming and all in all it was a nice night out.\r \r Upside: Friendly wait-staff, tasty (for large-restaurant-chain quality) food. A little on the salty side, but for my salt-loving fiance that?s more of an incentive than a deterrent. \r \r Downside: The waiting area inside is so small that once we were seated, the ?overflow? from the waiting area was more or less right next to our table, which made it feel a little?crowded. more

Call Ahead Seating - WHAT A JOKE !! 4/30/2007

My husband and I went here for my birthday, we have 3 kids under the age of 6 so we get to go by ourselves too often. We chose them over a few other places because they were the only ones who offered the call ahead seating. We were told our time would be 7:45 and that when we arrived we would only have to wait MAYBE 15 minutes to be seated. 1 & 1/2 hours later we finally got a seat. The waiter was slow and we only saw him 3 times through out the whole night, Once to take our order, once to drop off our appitizer, and once to drop our check ( he seemed too busy taking care of his 8 top), he gave us back our change in the form of a $10 dollar bill, I guess he thought if we only had a ten he would get a $10 tip. The food was terrible, we ordered a Bloomin Onion (so tought we had to cut it). My husband had the 14 oz New York and I have the 12 oz special. First of all my steak was the larger of the two, his was OK, mine I ordered Med-Rear and was so tough I couldn't bite a piece I had cut let alone chew it. The salads have shrunk over time as well as the service. I would just call it a bad night, but this is the second time we have been there and the service and food was bad (last time they gave us a free appitizer card), we dicided to call later that night and let the manager know how poor the service was (he gave us a $45 gift certificate). I don't think we will ever go back or even recommend is to anyone else, not even for a free meal. Pros: If you don't order the steak, the food is not bad. If you go in a large party you will probably get preferential treatment Cons: Extremely slow seating and service. The servers seem to only cater to the larger tippers (large parties) more

Slow seating 2/23/2007

Tonight we visited the Outback in Sandy and were very disappointed. We were told we would have a 20 minute wait to be seated...our name was called 50 minutes later. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids and we were crammed into a booth made for 4 people. (I was told our wait was so long was because they were waiting for a six top for us.) We were not given kids menus and we received silverware after the appetizer and salads were served. The server was adequate and the food was marginal. I don't think Outback is worth the money or your time. There are better places to eat!! Cons: slow seating, parking more

Best Steakhouse In Town 6/6/2005

The Outback Steakhouse, in my opinion, is by far and away the best steakhouse in town. Not only do you get the best value for your dollar. The food and service is outstanding. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the Victorias Filet is the best in town. Give the Outback Steakhouse a try, you will be blown away! Pros: Great Atmosphere more

Have the Chocolate Thunder Down Under! 5/19/2004

Although not always perfect, Outback Steakhouse is exceptional. Portions are generous (I always have left overs), salads are crisp and good, and the Chocolate Thunder Down Under is one of the best desserts I've ever had, especially when the brownie is hot and the ice cream is extra cold! I could eat here once a week and not tire of it. Service is great and the only times I've had to wait is when it's very busy (so it was expected). Do youself a favor -- go to Outback today! more

Mr 4/15/2004

I was very unimpressed with my recent trip to Outback Steakhouse. I used to enjoy their service; however, they have been falling down hill recently. The food was tasteless, they were out of Prime Rib, my wife and I waited several minutes after finishing our drinks, before they were refilled - three times. We received our Salads and Bread after the main course had arrived, 45 minutes after being seated. In the future, I feel my $55 could be better spent. Very poor service, for the cost! There are much better places in Utah, that are worth what you pay. Pros: Prompt Seating Cons: , Flavorless Food, Lack of Privacy more

Excellent restaurant 5/16/2003

We had to wait a bit for seating, but I expect that was because we went during general conference weekend. The food was wonderful - my daughter especially liked their smoothies. If you get the Prime Rib, go for the Outback-style. It's the best! Pros: Wonderful prime rib, great ribs Cons: Crowded more

Yummy! 2/7/2003

My husband and I absolutely love Outback! We start off with the cheese fries which are soooo good! We both order the primerib, which is so delicious. It is the best prime rib I've ever tasted! The service is always great, the servers are cheery and they do a good job. Pros: Good Service, Great Food Cons: Sometimes crowded, Bad Parking more

Outback or outhouse? 1/13/2003

You've GOT to be kidding. Although, for the money, their service and steak is acceptable, how can they be in the top ten? This shows how BAD the restaurants are and/or how lacking the city is for having exceptional service and food! Outback as a top ten steakhouse? Come on! Folks in Salt Lake either don't get out much, or don't get out of the state much. I suggest they try both and then compare what other cities have to offer. Maybe the city, as a whole, will grow to expect more! PLEASE! more

Crocodile Dundee eat your heart out 1/2/2003

Coming from the Roy area, there are not many steak houses to try so we have to travel south. So far the Outback is the best steakhouse I have been to. Love their pumpernickel bread and the Outback specail and also the Walla be Darned(peach flavored drink). more

""outstanding"" 12/3/2002

excellant steaks with a fun atmosphere! Service is usually very good. I can really relax here. Pros: unique service, top notch portions, quality atmosphere Cons: need larger buildings, price a little high, crowded more

Excellent 11/20/2002

Outback is a great steakhouse. I love it. I would recomend it to anyone who would like a good meal and a fun environment. more

A treat 10/11/2002

For a big chain restaurant, the steaks are surprisingly good. Have never been disappointed with either the ribeye or the filet. Not exactly Spencers, but then again, they don't charge Spencer's prices. A good place for the weekly beef fix. Pros: good steaks, tasty appetizers Cons: crowded on weekends more

medium bloody, please. 8/24/2002

premium cuts of meat, cooked to a bloody perfection with excelent atmosphere and service! Best slab of beef in town!! more
