Just Okay 10/3/2010

I've been to Osushi twice. I'm not overly impressed by the quality of the food, it really doesn't taste much better than average sushi. The service ranges from great to awful. The first time I went with just my mom and our waitress was ruse and inattentive and forgot what we ordered. The second time the only time we could get attention was when my brother would ask for service because the waitress seemed to have a little crush on him. Once he got her over there, though, she was great and even made us a special sauce that was delicious. All in all, Osushi is okay, but if you are in the mood for amazing, keep looking more

The worst in Boston 9/1/2010

Don't bother. The place smells like rotting fish and the staff is rude. If you're looking for fish, just go to Turner Fisheries in the same building, at least their nice. more

great experience 1/30/2010

Had a lot of fun here last night. Service was spectacular. They started us off with a delecious plum wine on the rocks special and it was de-lish.We ordered a variety of standard and signature rolls which were just amazing. I have to say the signature rolls are the way to go if you're tired of the same old sushi rolls and wanted to try something different go with the Maiya on Fire. They all had unique flavors that tasted delicious and the presentation was very nice. Pros: best sushi in beantown Cons: loud but I liked it more

Stayed at the Westin Hotel in the Copley area and was just delighted from this small but great sushi stop. My husband and I are from Southern Cal so we've had our share of sushi. My experience at his restaurant was excellent. Wait staff was great, food was fantastic...and let's not even mention the Mango Saketini. We ended up eating there 3 times out of our week visit. Will definitely be back. more

Worth it! 4/4/2008

After a long day at work, I headed to Osushi with some coworkers. It was towards the end of the night, and although the servers were clearly looking forward to going home, nothing was sacrificed. Our glasses of beer were consistantly refilled by the server, and both the appetizers and entrees came along with perfect speed. The popcorn shrimp tempura was delicious, and the makimono was very filling. Essentially, this restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. The service was great, not too pushy, but we were never left wanting. After that experience, we will definitely be back in the future! more

all around....just perfect 8/11/2007

The quality of food at this sushi restaurant was amazing! Then again....how can this place be around for so long if they ONLY serve sushi if the fish is not FRESH! I read all the reviews and find some people's comments hysterical. The servers are EXTREMELY friendly and the place makes me feel at home. What else can I say....that's why i keep going back! more

Best susihi in Boston! 3/11/2007

This sushi restaurant is exceptional. I am a sushi lover and connoisseur, and I;ve not found better in Boston. Comparable to the finest sushi restaurantsin the world. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is hip and suitable for a romantic date, fun night out or just a quick bite. Simply sensational! more

Great experience at Osushi last weekend! 9/1/2006

There are many good sushi restaurants in Boston, but none have compared to Osushi Restaurant in the Westin hotel. I just tried Osushi for the first time and all I can say is OTORO! Delecious Tuna Belly Sushi, Crystal rainbow maki, Lobster Tempura, all cut expertly by Chefs that are obviously very experienced. The food was so detailed and that was matched by servers who really payed attention to detail. I have never been in a sushi restaurant in Boston where service and food knowledge were so apparent. Even the manager came over and personelly graded fresh wasasbi on my plate. This is a restaurant I will reccommend to all sushi lovers! Pros: Food, Service, Ambience Cons: Parking was tough more

Never disappointed yet, consistently enjoyable 12/8/2005

Though new to sushi, I've had several great experiences at OSushi and always look forward to lunching there. While the service may be a bit slower than some, I've never found it excessively so, and frankly enjoy the chance to relax. Servers have gone out of their way to guide me thru the ""process."" The Sake list is extensive. The combos with tempura are lovely. Pros: Flavor & presentation, Ambience, though busy, Attentiveness Cons: Small & busy more

osushi is a great place to if you are seeking a young and fast atmosphere but beyond that there isnt much to offer. the food was not that great considering the price that they were charging. the waitress was slow and inattentive, taking forever to bring our food 5 feet from the countertop to our table and not refilling out tea and water despite several request. if you have a lot of time and dont mind eyeballing your food for 20 minutes before it arrives at your table then it's an ok place to go to Cons: waitstaff more

Osushi should be OH NO SUSHI! 11/1/2005

i read some of the reviews on citysearch and thought that this place would offer up good sushi. i was thoroughly disappointed when i went to give it a try. not only did they have a limited menu, their fish was not fresh as well. i ordered the toro, and although it was tuna that i was given, it was definitely not toro. the waitress was also a bit on the snotty side. more

OOh so good!!!!! 9/12/2005

I recently moved from California, the meca of sushi in America and was craving some comparable sushi. I heard from a japanese friend that this place was the best around. I was expecting a decent meal but what i found was irresistable. The food was extremely fresh and delicately prepared. The servers were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and the ambience was very hip. I've become hooked on Osushi, especially the tuna tartar and the o toro. I'm not one for writing restaurant reviews but I was extremely surprised to read the negative reviews and felt i had to defend this delicious retaurant. Enjoy!!!!!!!! Pros: Food, Service, Music Cons: not a one more

Osushi is Osobad and Oripoff 9/8/2005

Twice eaten and twice so bad. Sushi lacks freshness and I had two pieces last time that were actually bitter. Waitress pushes the most expensive items. Plates delivered with no thought from chefs, just plop sushi on a plate. Pros: In Hotel Cons: Food, Service, Prices more

not so fresh 8/15/2005

Altogether disappointing. We read the great reviews and gave it a shot. Our sushi tasted like the refrigerator it had been sitting in for a week. Our waitress asked why we had eaten so little, I told her it wasn't fresh, she handed me the check with a trite apology. Cooked items were good, though not outstanding, and service was poor. Pros: nice atmosphere, good music Cons: stale sushi, bad service more

Skip It 8/10/2005

The best thing about O'Sushi is the trendy decor. Apart from that, it is very mediocre. The miso soup was bland and the sushi average at best. The tuna was a bit oily and fishy tasting. The waitress was doing us a favor by waiting on us. There are so many better places in Boston. Pros: Location, Decor Cons: Service, Food more

simply horrible 8/7/2005

We came to Boston for a weekend and gave osushi a shot after reading rave reviews on CitySearch and in magazines. Cooked items and appetizers are good, but the sushi, very seriously, borders on disgusting. When I told our exceptionally perky waitress that my sushi wasn't fresh and that I couldn't finish it, she offered a perfunctory apology and handed me the check with a big smile in the same sentence. If this is the best sushi in Boston, I'll stick to the baked beans and NE clam chowder next time I'm in town. Pros: nice space Cons: bad service, stale sushi more

sushi done right 12/27/2004

This was my first experience in osushi and i had a wonderful time. The food and the service was excellent, the server was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped guide me through the menu. The rolls and the sushi was one of the best dinners i have ever had. i suggest everyone to go in. more

GREAT SUSHI, GREAT ATMOSPHERE 6/26/2004

This place is great, sushi and sashimi is fresh as could be and good size too. Atmoshere is the best out of any sushi place in boston (none of the cheesy bamboo everywhere) and it is really clean. The music is a plus as well. I come here quite frequently and the chefs are very nice and always seem to have specials to add to the menu (I recently had Kobe beef sushi, and Otoro sashimi, which was unworldly) and the service was great as well. Sake selection is huge so ask for recommendations, saketinis are cool too. Pros: food, drinks, atmosphere, service more

great sushi 6/19/2004

as a newcomer to the sushi world...i feel there is no better place! The quality of the fish is top notch and when matched with the perfect sake-tini...well an evening could not get any better! more

every time:) 6/15/2004

this place is consistently fantastic everytime I go there! Fresh food...fun atmosphere...and friendly people! more

they can't wait to go back. This hidden gem, located in the lobby
area of the Westin Hotel Copley Square, serves up the finest sushi and
Japanese cuisine in town, maybe any town this side of Tokyo.

With both a local fascination and an international repeat clientele, this 41- seat, quaint and timeless restaurant is a popular staple that keeps on reinventing itself. The philosophy is simple: Osushi's commitment to authentic Japanese cuisine is its secret. You will NOT find "fusion" sushi
here, but the menu offers unmatched creativity, and guests will admire the "raw" sophistication of the pallet of a culture which has enjoyed the art of sushi for millennia.

If you've not been to Osushi, you've simply got to go!
