Bad business practices shouldn't be rewarded-STAY AWAY 2/27/2012

The food is way overpriced, but okay-- not great, just okay-- but the manager is possibly the rudest, nastiest person I have ever met. I watched this jerk publicly berate a woman because THEY made her order wrong, then banish her from the establishment! I wholeheartedly recommend patronizing the Hotcakes Emporium around the corner at 8555 Ditch Road, instead, obviously Brian McDermott and his family do not want your business. Unprofessional and appalling. more

Will Never Go Again 9/5/2011

My wife and I went to visit on September 4,2011.We had to stand in line for maybe 5 minutes then we were seated. We then sat for 15-20 minutes without getting waited on,while three couples who were seated after us were allowed to place their orders. The waitress who was in charge of our section never came by our whole visit while we sat at our sticky table. Finally someone who was working the opposite side of the place noticed we weren't being helped and went out of her way to do so.Before she came though we were entertained by the hostess or manager(not sure)being very rude and disrespectful to the guys who were cleaning the tables. The food finally came although edible, was not in my opinion worth the price. When my wife and I went to pay and were asked ""how was everything"" we let her know and was given in return what was basically a so what attitude. So just want to thank Original Pancake House for one of the top five WORST retaurant experiences of my life. more

BEWARE! Indiana Department of Health to get involved!!! 8/9/2007

We were with a party of 6 on August 5, 2007. We were left in the entryway for approximately 10 minutes before we were spoken to. The girl wasn't friendly, appearence was messy and we received no eye contact (while she joked and laughed with her co-wokers). \r Sweet and accomodating waitress.\r The next day, 4 out of the 6 of us came down with SEVERE SICKNESS (I'm only using ""sickness"" because this review won't let me write what it's medical term is). It's now 4 days later and the symptoms are still there! I noticed while paying our check that 2 employees used the restroom, quite quickly I might add! This just might explain how we all got sick...employees at OHOP do not follow food and health rules.\r We contacted OHOP on 4 occassions. We were put on hold, hung up on and promised a call-back. It's impossible to get to a manager, there always was an excuse. Not once did we get an apology, nor did we get to speak with a manager regarding this situation.\r We have since taken this to the Indiana Department of Health/Food Inspection. \r I would hate for all of you to get sick too, so I'll post an update as soon as we further the investigation with the State of Indiana. In the mean tim, Beware when eating at OHOP. Pros: None. Cons: cooks don't wash hands! more

Awesome pancakes 8/1/2006

We experienced a few glitches 7/1/2006

OPH's reputation didn't hold true for a recent visit. The serving staff was friendly but not efficient and both of our orders were sent back for changes. The outdoor courtyard is pleasant and beverages are refreshed from a nearby station, although more than once we were the ones who replenished our water. We'll try again. more
