I stumbled upon this mom and pop joint while filling up gas at a corner station at Hanley and Frost Avenue. Was starving and craving for something I kinda felt safe eating as I was not in my usual neighborhood. What should I spot but a chop suey across the street. Ask anyone from St Louis City about chop sueys and they could probably tell you that they are one of the best kept secrets in St. Louis. Pure, cheap, no-nonsense Chinese food localized to the appetites of the neighborhoods they serve. I mean where else can you fill your stomach with good tasting food for a couple of bucks anymore? If you are creative, you can even feed a family of 4 for $10 to $15. This place doesn't have the lunch price dinner price nonsense where you pay more just because it is dinner time. The place could use some freshening up but it saves its energy for what it does best - good, cheap Chinese food.
