We have been going to Orient Express for 10 years since they first opened and although the last couple years, the food has changed for the worse, we decided to order again. Bad habits die hard. We have always ordered the same menu items. Always the same even though the amounts sometimes differ.. When our order was delivered, instead of the chicken in garlic sauce, we had been brought beef in garlic sauce. We don't eat the beef and have never ordered it. I called and told them of the mistake and I was asked if I wanted store credit for the next time, and I said I did not. I wanted to eat dinner as the rest of the items were there and waiting. After I repeated my name and address apx 3 times, I was asked if i wanted to store credit to which i said no, I wanted the chicken delivered. I hung up the phone to wait for the food to come. After about an hr, we decided it was not coming. The next day while i was out, I intended to go and pick up our chicken that we had paid for the nite before, but did not get.. We were informed on the phone, that there would be no chicken or store credit, and that the mistake was ours--not theirs, and that we had ordered beef. I am furiious. We have never ordered beef before, and I feel like we were cheated out of our money. Are they too cheap and greedy to realize there is a Chinese restaurant on every corner where we will be taking our business? I can't believe that after being a customer for 10 years, they treat their customers this way. Their food has gotten greasier, smaller portions and the prices have gone up, so cheating us out of dinner and also lying about intending to deliver the chicken and then just not showing up is the last straw. I will never ever go to this crappy place again and I will make sure I tell everyone I know not to go there either!!
Pros: It used to be quick delivery, but as they stood us up and gave us teh wrong food, I can't say that anymore.
Cons: Greasy food, smaller portions, increased prices, and lack of understanding of the customer being right
