Editorial review from Citysearch 8/31/2012

Our first visit was our last visit. The food is absolutely terrible! We started out with their version of Calamari. Now I know where the expression 'mystery meat' comes from. While the thin crust on the Pizza was good, you'd have to be a certified Salt-a-holic to eat it. Really. There are far better and less expensive places to eat. more

have been here quite a few times. 5/31/2012

have been here quite a few times. Always try to get to Oregano's when visiting Tucson. Excellent service, great food. They have a great meatball marinara sandwich, which, when ordered full size, is almost too much to eat. Overall, a quality restaurant , good food, good service attenative managerial staff and priced right. more

Love this place! 3/12/2012

Great atmosphere, but does get a bit crowded. The food is to die for! more

Pizza As It Should Be 6/28/2009

We have been going here for 3 years after being introduced to Oregano's in Phoenix! Pros: Great Pizza Pie Cons: Limited Pkg, Small Venue more

Okay pizza, not worth waiting 12/12/2008

This place is okay if you want pizza and some entertaining stuff on the walls to keep your kids busy. But it's definitely not worth a 45 minute wait outside for a table, slow service (since the place is always packed) and a bathroom that smells a little less than fresh. The prices are kind of high for what you're getting. This isn't gourmet pizza made with organic cheeses, after all. The parking lot is a nightmare -- there just aren't enough spaces. And the ""outdoor"" seating area is just a bunch of folding tables set up on pavement. This is definitely not a place to take a large group. Try Sauce instead. Pros: cool stuff on walls Cons: small parking lot, long wait, smelly bathroom more

Good for a standard pizza joint 9/30/2008

Everything was decent except the pricing was way out of line for the food we ate. We would definitely go back if they cut their prices in half. It just wasnt worth it for the quality of food we ate. Pros: Nice menu selections Cons: too expensive for the food quality, long waits more

So so 9/29/2008

Not sure what people really see in this place.. THe food is average at best, its always a pain to get in.. It doesnt really make sense. Pros: Big menu Cons: Not so good food, way too busy, bad service more

stick with pizzas and salads 5/11/2008

If you like old time Chicago style thin crust pizza you will love Oregono's. I have aslo found their salads to be generous and very edible. I tried the lazana and had to ask where the noodles were. I go to Oregono's for pizza and salads and find the food quite good when I stick to these two items. Pros: good pizza and salads Cons: hard to get in and get seated or find parking more

Overrated 2/28/2008

Oreganos is definitely over rated. Their food is average and we can tell most of which is precooked and frozen. The pizza is similar to that at peter pipers pizza. Low quality ingredients, terrible crust. The service also is terrible. Its obvious most go here because there isnt much else around speedway. Pros: Nice patio Cons: Bad food more

Salty, slow, unhelpful 2/3/2008

The first time I tried this place it was busy, and took a while for a thin crust pizza to arrive. Nice and bubbly atmosphere, though. Unfortunately the pizza was SO SALTY that it was difficult to enjoy. more

Best original pizza! 2/23/2007

A fantastic celebratory restaurant! My DH and I love the personalities of the servers and bartenders...your every wish is their command! Favorites: antipasto salad, calamari, ""The Lady is a Scampi"" entree, the exceptional variety of pizzas, and of course, the pizza cookie dessert. Barbra Streisand reportedly loves the Oregano's in Phoenix, and said so during one of her concerts in Arizona!!!! Thank you for such a wonderful restaurant! Pros: The food, service, parking, great value for the dollar Cons: usually a wait to be seated at a table more

Worst pizza I have ever had 1/12/2007

Where do these people eat that loved this pizza? After a 30 minute wait in the lobby, we were seated in the half empty restaurant. We ordered pesto bruschetta and a pizza. The pesto bruschetta was large, delicious, and made with high quality bread. The 14"" thin crust pizza came about 18""-20"" (we were only charged for 14"") another 30 minutes later with a blah, too thin and too crisp crust, excessively salty sauce with the toppings diced as small as possible(canned most likely), smelled and looked like a chuck e cheese pizza. It smelled and tasted freezer burned. Very disappointing. The slivers of cilantro were zig zagged(chopped fresh cilantro doesn't look like that), I have never seen anything like it... It is the worst pizza we have had out to date. Pros: The outdoor seating is a great setting, yummy bruschetta Cons: Worst pizza ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

everything on the menu is delish. 11/13/2006

my favorite thing to get from oreganos is the oreganos favorite. its a huge salad with everything you can imagine on it. so yummy. i also like to start off with an order of hot wings, they're the best in town. great place to go for lunch. more

Great grub, great price, fun atmosphere 9/3/2006

Really good, fresh food and great prices. For what you pay, this is very good food. Great fun semi-noisy atmosphere, which really matches the decor, the food, and the service. Be sure you order the Chocolate-chip cookie dessert--it's yummy. Buy a T-shirt for 5 dollars...they are really cool. Pros: Great fresh food, desserts are awesome, service Cons: Usually have to wait, though it's worth it more

Food is outrageously delicious but get take out to avoid the wait. 8/27/2006

This is some of the best Italian I've had in a restaurant. There are long waits because the food is made FRESH unlike some of the mediocre national chains and because it's so good people just keep coming back for more. But there's a simple solution...call in your order ahead and get it to go. I've never been disappointed by the pizzas, although I think the pasta dishes (such as Alfredo the Dark, a spicy alfredo dish) are the unsung heroes of the menu. The cheesy garlic bread is not to be missed. If you insist on eating there, I suggest going as early as possible and don't go hungry!! In fact, you may want a light snack before you go. At peak times, you could be looking at about a 2 hour wait. It will be worth the wait, but for those of you not so patient, I insist, take-out is the way to go. more

I don't know what all the fuss is about... 7/24/2006

We had a group of 5 and were all in a great mood until being seated. Even while waiting an eternity outside to be seated, we were lauging with a few other groups of people waiting and sharing drinks. Then we were finally crammed into a very small corner near the bar area. The waiter said he'd be back in a second to take our order, but instead, continued to flirt with a few girls at the next table. We finally got our drink orders taken, then our food orders were taken sometime during the next 40 minutes. Three of our group kept getting bumped in the back by people trying to scoot by our table, and we are not even remotely large people. Our drink orders were messed up, while our pizza was greasy and cold. All in all, it was not a good experience...until we left! Pros: the other groups waiting to be seated Cons: slow service, uncomfortable seating, greasy & cold food more

GO GO GO GO GO 7/26/2005

I have been to this restaurant several times. Either with local friends or out of towners and everone has a great time. Service is ALWAYS GREAT. The food is wonderful. Just expect to wait. However they take care of you even while waiting. GO GO GO more

Very Noisy, Very Busy, Very Tasty 4/21/2005

The food is excellent and I have tried several of their entrees. The dining space is very small and very noisy. Often a long weight. Love the food! Pros: Excellent Food, Generous Portions, Good parking Cons: Crowded, Noisy, Did I say Noisy? more

Great Pizza! 9/29/2004

Oregano's has the best dish deep pizza in town! Along with their wonderful Bellini's, great atmosphere and upbeat staff, you have the best place in Tucson for a fun evening! Pros: pizza, Bellini's, staff more

The best 7/8/2004

Begin with fantastic portions of food, great pizza, salads, sandwiches and add in a staff that is beyond attentive, fun and with great personalities and what do you have? Oregano's! More? How about great drinks and all of this at a ridiculously low price. I have lived in most of the major cities in the U.S. and can honestly say this is one of the best restaurants I have been to. No, this is not your intimate, candle lit, quiet bistro. It is just the best value and fun for the buck. Pros: Great food, Huge portions, Low prices more
