Orange Coast Driving School

I had to call the DMV and thank them for recommending Orange Coast because I got my permit so fast through their online Drivers Ed class at Driver Org and then I was able to get behind the wheel way before my friends in the classroom. Great instructors and they specialize in your safety! more

I first started driving with Armando when i was very young, he used to teach everyone in the neighborhood how to drive, and he was very passionate about it. Armando ispassionate and very good at what he does, and always puts a 100% in helping you understand and learn exactly what it is to make you a safe and SMART driver. I'm surprised at most of these comments. Hes a driving instructor, hes strict Yes, but i havent received any tickets since i started driving. So i sincerly owe it to Oc driving school,and their dedication to a safe, and smart driving school experience. Thank you! more

My instuctor is Armando and I think he's a GREAT driving coach!!! He's more than patient with you and he always takes the time to fix any mistakes you made. He always has a smile on his face and never yells at all...so I don't know why some people post that because that's nowhere near true. Armando made my behind-the-wheel experiance great, I learned so much from him and now I feel 10times more confident to take my driving test. If you want to pass I definitely recommend Armando!! more

I think this is a great school to learn to drive. You just have to follow directions and you will be fine. i passed both my written and behind the wheel test at the first try and the instructor is great, you just have to pay attention to what the instructor is saying and be willing to learn. I guarantee you will pass your driving test in no time as i did. the instructor has had many many years of experience teaching people how to drive which is probably why he's so good at his job. i highly recommend this driving school ;) more

I first searched for reviews and then prices, I called the school and asked about the negative reviews and was very satisfied with their reply and after having both my 16 year old sons complete their training, getting their license and driving an SUV to and from Mammoth this past weekend all I can say is ""Wow!! They were taught by the best, Armando is very meticuolous and thorough and brought out the best driver in both my sons. I wish more people took the extra minute to write positive reviews instead of bullying small businesses. more

My Daughter and Sons all went through this school and loved it. I think the negative remarks are from a competitor because it doesn't get any better than this. I had to call and thank the high school and the DMV for recommending Orange Coast. more

I am horrified that this school is in business. My daughter signed up with this school a while back, I've been hesitating as to whether or not I should write a review, but I feel that consumers need to be informed. The instructor who I believe owns the school is a terrible instructor. I will mirror what others have said in that he is difficult to understand, but I believe that obstacle would be easy to overlook if he had a good attitude. He does not! He yells (freely) at the students and my daughter came home and was completely humiliated. He is condescending, rude, sarcastic and that is, in my opinion, completely inappropriate. WE ARE PAYING FOR THIS SERVICE!! I will close once again with the question ""How is this school still in business?"" more

Although it was my first time behind the wheel, he was very impatient and extremely difficult to understand. He kept on commenting how I was not ready to drive, and I had no memory . Even though this is the cheapest place in Orange County, I recommend going to Teen Driving Academy. My friends said they had a much better experience with the people there. Cons: The driving instructor was extremely rude and pessimistic. more

I had a horible experience. I could not understand Armando at all and never got any positive feedback. Also Armando said things like ""you know nothing about driving"" and ""you will never learn"" Also on many occasions before i even had my permit for a while he would tell me that i would fail the test. On one occasion he also asked me ""do you even know how to ride a bicycle?"" I would not recomend this at all. Armondo did not help me at all and now i will not get my license soon enough. I have just returned from the Orange Coast driving School, and I am warning you now that the instructor was an all around horrible teacher, if you can even give him that label. He was impatient, rude, and incredibly antagonistic towards me, considering that he was getting payed to instruct me. He literally said ''I want to write in big capital letters YOU CAN'T DRIVE.'' After he dropped me off TWENTY MINUTES before my lesson was supposed to be over, I called the school to request another teacher and they said he is the ONLY one they have. After that I called the AB driving school, requested appointments, and when they asked why I wanted their school I told them and the person on the phone literally said ''Did you have (insert OC driving instructor name)'' And I said ''Yes!'' And that person said ''Yeah, we hear about him. We don't know how he stays in business.'' NEITHER DO I. Don't waste your money going to this place. The instructor is a creep. Pros: There were none. Cons: Be prepared to be insulted. more

This is a very good school. The instructor is very nice and he helped me to better understand. I feel very confident in my driving now. more
