I have searched the world over trying to find a hairdresser who can tame my unruly hair. I have never been able to stay with one hairdresser longer than a couple of months because they always want to cut and style my hair to look like whoever the lastest and greatest movie star's hair is cut. The problem is I do not have straight, fine hair! I have wasted years and dollars trying to make my hair do something it just wasn't meant to do. I came to Ron because he was a "curly hair" specialist. I had my doubts there was such a thing, and Ron proved me wrong. He spent several hours teaching me an easy and effective way to wear my hair curly. The hair products for curly hair are affordable and really do keep my hair from friizzing (even in Austin). The staff is very friendly and they go to great legnths to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Bo has left out no detail in spoiling their clients- drinks,umbrellas for rainy days, plenty of current magazines. The salon feels like a chic salon you would find in New York. I have to STRONGLY disagree with the previous comment made on Barbara. I have been seeing Barbara for some time now, and I have to say she is the most open, communicative, talented colorist that I have EVER worked with. I have had all kinds of experiences in the past, most not so good. I came to Barbara with a long list of horror stories and concerns,,,yet I was completely relaxed and confident after talking with her that she was the one I was looking for. Her #1 priority it customer satisfaction, which means...if you are not satisfied, you MUST let her know. She absolutely stresses clear & open communication upon meeting her, and will do what it takes to make sure you are 100% happy with whatever service you received, or she WILL correct it. As far as sales pressure, I have received none of any kind other than the normal suggestions I get from ANY salon I go to. Its part of the business!!! I strongly recommend Barbara and the rest of the folks at this salon to anyone who wants quality service. Pros: service, ambience, friendly & committed staff Cons: limited parking more

I love going to Bo...I love the space so much.Who ever decorated that place needs to come to my house!The staff is super friendly and there is none of that snooty salon atmosphere. I moved to Austin last year and lucked out big time when I went to Barbara.She sat down and really listened to my concerns .I have wild curly hair and most of the time I am so lazy I just put it up in a pony tail or just straighten it. I have never had anyone make it look so great as she does. She told me to bring my hairdryer in one day and took the time to teach me how to recreate that salon look. No one has ever done that.Everyone freaks out over my curls now. I have also had some last minute events where I needed a stylist and she came through for me. This is probably why the salon has grown so quickly in such a short time. Based on my experience they are really good to their clients.Go and check it out for yourself. more

I consulted with Barbara regarding my color correction. We both agreed on what needed to be done, and I felt confident that Barbara would be able to correct the color. I also made it clear that I didn't want to be blonde. After the initial correction, I was fairly pleased and so returned as scheduled. The second visit resulted in blonder hair, but it was still okay so I returned again as scheduled for a third visit. After the third visit, I was MUCH blonder and asked that it be corrected, which required a return visit. During the correction, I was told that a toner would tone the color down quite a bit and should correct the blondness. After leaving there, I looked EXACTLY the same as when I initially went in. I was very disappointed, and felt as if my requests for corrected color were dismissed. Also, each time I went in I felt as though product was constantly being pushed on me, which turned me off. I won't be going back. I don't feel as though I was listened to at all, and even gave Barbara the benefit of the doubt and the chance to correct (again) what she did wrong. I definitely have to say that this was the best experience that I have ever had. The colorist is experienced and very friendly. She was very upfront and honest about her work, if you ever want a great haircoloring experience then ask for Barbara. The haircut was just as great. The stylist (Irek) knew exactly how to handle my hair and gave me the kind of cut that I have been wanting from every other place that I have been to, but had not gotten. Again he is very experienced and very friendly. The salon is a little pricey but definitely worth every dollar. I would (and will) recommend this salon to all my friends and family. I am relatively new to the Austin area and have visited salons and received almost what I wanted. After I left Bo I Loved my perfect color! My stylist Barbara gave me some new direction but also listened to my opinion. I love It! It has been just over 2 weeks since my visit and I am still able to make my hair look like I left the salon. With my usual visit I can never make it look as good! I Also loved the salons look. It had rich colors, you feel as if you are in a quaint house somewhere in Europe with the modern feel mixed in. Pros: close to a lot of cool shops and eateries Cons: parking is avaliable in back but not to easy to get your car in and out more
