One Stop Svc

I took several items of (women's) clothing to One Stop. 2 suits, one vintage shirt and 3 pairs of pants that needed to be hemmed and taken in. He ruined my clothing. The vintage shirt, that I've held on to for over a decade with hopes of finding a trusted tailor - is now not wearable. He made my pants too small and too short. Of course, a tailor will not refund you, they attempt to cast blame onto the customer. Mediocre to terrible is the rating I would give Victor at One Stop at 466 Court Street in Carroll Gardens Brooklyn. more

When I left Harlem one Saturday afternoon to get my new suit tailored in Carroll Gardens at One Stop I was really hoping I wasn't wasting my time. I found out when I went back to get the suit that it was worth the trip. Rule #1 of men's suits, never let the department store tailors cut up your new suit. For the most part, with some outstanding exceptions, these are the bottom rung of tailors who are just working for speed, not detail-oriented craftsmanship. At One Stop, however, you can talk over the suit with the tailor, go through how you want it cut and get advice about shopping for your body type. The mark of a well tailored suit is that it needs no adjustment. It looks like it was made for you and that's what you'll get from One Stop. more

Good tailors are hard to find. Here's one, though his shop is easily overlooked. It's a small window on Court St. (Brklyn) btwn 3rd & 4th Pl. Don't be put off by the small, unassuming appearance (inside as well as out). The tailor, a mellow guy with a soft Russian accent, knows what he's doing and is a pleasure to deal with (nb: he's never in a rush). He did an impeccable job for me with several suits of widely varying styles, as well as other clothes. Competitive rates, good value for the quality. more
