Lost or Stolen Gift Certificates 10/14/2009

As a staff member at the Olympus Spa, let me clear up some misunderstandings. For the record, we accept all gift certificates regardless of the purchase date. In case of lost or stolen certificates, we can always look up our records and ladies can use them whenever. If the full amount is not used in one visit, the remainder will be credited back to that person. The amount can also be shared among different people as well. We've never had issues with ladies not being able to redeem lost certificates to this date. We understand situations happen. Just contact us and we will be more than willing to help. more

It takes a little bit of getting use to, but it made me feel very empowered and refreshed that I could have such a exhilarating experience. more

Olympus Spa: No nonsense day spa for women 6/25/2006

Katy L got it just right! Olympus is a wonderful Korean-style spa for women only. Get over any body conciousness. Get naked and get scrubbed! Throw on a robe and grab some Korean food in the cafe. Hot rooms are also relaxing and wonderful. Drink plenty of water. They've opened up a second spa in Lynnwood. Haven't tried it yet, but the pictures make it look a little newer and fancier than the original Tacoma spa. I won't waste my money in European spas again! http://www.olympusspa.com more

You'll be a New Person! 12/21/2005

Olympus Spa is a Korean style spa that offers a variety of treatments that are slightly different than the usual spa fare. It caters only to women, in an atmosphere that is nice but doesn't try for the chic coldness that so many spas seem to aspire to. This place is about the treatments, not the impression, and the treatments are wonderful. Hot and cold pools, steam, body scrubs where you will enjoy the symbolically cathartic feeling of layers of skin falling away. With an entry fee of $25, and additional reasonable fees for services such as scrubs and massages, you will feel truly pampered without shelling out for the fashionable setting of a more chic spa. more

This place is fantastic 8/16/2005

This place is fantastic!!! Your entry fee grants you use of many different soaking pools (rangeing in temperature from a very cold plunge pool to hot tub temp), a steamroom, a dry sauna, three different earth energy rooms (warm rooms of different temperatures with different substrates on the ground and walls... like salt, jade, etc) and lots of warm heated stone floors for relaxing on. In addition, you can buy other services, like a very vigorous Korean body scrub, or a moisturizeing treatment or massage. The ambiance is not really tranquil. The place is well lit and feels social and down to business (the actual facility is very nice, lots of stone and waterfalls and plants etc, but no effort is made to keep the place quiet). Clothing is not allowed in the pools, but you are given a robe upon admission that you can wear from activity to activity. It should be noted here that this is not just a place reserved for the svelte... women of all shapes, sizes, ages etc mingle here with a comfort and ease that is really refreshing, and it is easy to leave the place feeling good about your body, however it looks. There is also a restaurant on the premise while is really really good and serves up inexpensive and healthy korean dishes. No men are allowed into the building, and there is a security guard that patrols the entrance and parking lot in the evening hours. This is an excellent establishment. more

If you're a woman, this is great! 8/3/2005

Sorry, Douglas, but Olympus Spa is for women only, but I thought I'd post a reply for others who might be looking for a cheap spa alternative (glad to know there are alternatives for men in town). I've only been to Olympus Spa once, but had a very good experience and felt rejuvenated afterward (I found it especially good to go during the dreary winter season). Upon arrival, I was greeted by one of the many Korean women who own and operate the spa, given a tour of all their facilities, including earth energy heating rooms, saunas, steam rooms, hot, cold and mugwort pools (included in the $25 day use fee), scrub and massage facilities ($40-65), locker room, and on site Korean food cafe. Everything appeared clean, attractive and comfortable. I had reserved a full body scrub several weeks in advance (recommended especially for weekend trips), and was given a robe and shower cap and told to use the pools for 20 minutes or so to prepare for my scrub. It may be a bit intimidating at first for those who are shy about their bodies (I am a little), but I got over it quickly when I saw that the women there were of every age, size, color, and body type--and were thoroughly enjoying their experience anyway. The body scrub is also not for the shy, as a professional scrubs nearly every inch of your body while chatting away in Korean with her co-workers, also scrubbing customers on two adjacent beds--but it's totally worth it during (like a massage) and after (soft, smooth skin from head to toe). I didn't have time to enjoy the warming rooms, but the food at the cafe was plentiful, delicious, cheap, and very healthy. They're supposed to open an even more extensive spa in Lynnwood soon, but not sure when. more

Low key, inexpensive, and fun 6/15/2005

I've been going to the Olympus Spa for about 5 years now (thought I refer to it as "the naked lady place"). It is a Korean spa and it isn't expensive to get in and spend the day. There are about 6 hot tubs with water of different temperatures, a cold pool with a waterfall, a sauna, a steam room and 3 "hot rooms" where you lie on a hot floor and put hot stones on yourself. They also offer very reasonably priced services and I must recommend the salt scrub. It is an everyday kind of environment rather than a "rarefied sanctuary" kind of place and you'll feel oh so much better after spending several hours there! more
