I wouldn't listen to these previous reviews. If you want pretty waitresses, um go to H00ters. I usually don't go out to eat to check out employees. If you want a fancy atmosphere ...

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/23/2013

I think this Old Chicago is the best in value and location. Id ignore the other comments about the service or the atmosphere. They have really done a great job to update the look inside, and the servers have been AMAZING! The calzones for instance are to die for, and the beer selection is by far the best Ive seen for this upscale kind of dining experience. Id suggest this to anyone looking for a great food selection at a great price. The World Beer Tour is also an added incentive and the Happy Hour is also a plus! more

Bad service, bad food! 2/17/2011

Haven't been there in years because of the bad service! The bartender at the time had either pink eye or was on something. Either way he should not have been serving! I got served food that had a stale bun on it and they did not even offer to give me a refund! The locals go there for some strange reason? more

Blah 1/29/2009

Pepperoni rolls, calzones, oriental salad, ranch dressing. These are all very good. If you're one of those people who drink beer, the selection is great also and the bartenders are generally nice! If you like to hang out in Roseville, this is a decent place. Pros: certain menu items, selection Cons: Roseville more

BEWARE - DO NOT PAY WITH CASH/DEBIT CARDS! 9/8/2008

BEWARE! DO NOT use your bank/debit/cash card to pay for your meal. They will charge you twice! I paid for 6 family members meals and first they withdrew the amount + tip from my checking account. Then they withdrew just the amount of the meal. When I called to let them know that 2 withdrawls had been made instead of one, and asked why, they said it was ""normal policy"". And one of the amounts is ""pending"". I guess it's assurance they get their money? It's a good thing that my checking account had money in it to cover both amounts. If someones checking account balance was low they would have had overdrafts. When I asked what would have happened if I had overdrafts and checking fees, would they (Old Chicago) have covered my overdrafts they said ""no"". I called my bank to check if the second amount was pending, they said no, it was one transaction gone through twice with two different amounts. Regardless, after 3 phone calls, speaking with 2 different managers, and 2-1/2 weeks, I finally was reimbursed the amount of the meal. Not even so much as ""sorry for your inconvenience"", nothing. This all being said, the food was OK. Nothing to write home about! I will NEVER return to this restaurant. I could see if it was a mistake on the transaction, and they apologized, but this is their policy. It is not ""pending"" - it happens twice! And the managers acted like it was my fault!! more

Not sure what's the point of it 1/21/2008

I've eaten here twice, and didn't care for the food. The first time I had a calzone, and the second time I had a pizza. Each item was way, way too greasy...and I am a person who loves greasy, Greek-style pizza! I don't remember the dough being particularly fresh, though it was hard to tell through the grease. On the other hand, the wait staff is very friendly and the beer selection is outstanding.\r \r If you are looking for a good Pizzerias or Italian restaurant, there are much better ones nearby. And if you just want a beer, I don't know why you wouldn't just go to any bar in the downtowns. more

Nothing super, just a plain chain bar/restaurant. 5/16/2007

Old Chicago falls into the chain - Comfort food catagory. The pizza is nothing to oexciting and can be compared to Pizza Hut and Papa Murphy's style pizza. The beer selection is probably the most extensive in the entire city of all bars as it carries hundreds of tastes. The decor and environment is similar to being in a college bar or a h00ter's style. You feel like you're in a bar, not a restaurant. The dress is laid-back casual to business casual during the days. The place draws a younger college crowd at night. Food menu ranges from around $8-22. With 3 being Average, this place gets a 3, for it's environment and the everyday comfort food menu. Pros: affordable, college girls to look at, super beer selection Cons: nothing exciting about the menu, comfort-bar food, all locations feel the same/chain more

Great Pizza and beer! 3/12/2007

I wouldn't listen to these previous reviews. If you want pretty waitresses, um go to H00ters. I usually don't go out to eat to check out employees. If you want a fancy atmosphere for 16 bucks, well haha. \r \r Awesome selection of beer and good varities of great pizza, plus a bunch of other food. Great service and the atmosphere is sports bar and upbeat. Had tons of fun and our server was hilarious. Only problem is that it's crazy busy there sometimes and shoulder to shoulder, which makes the service a little slower at times and ya gotta wait for tables. They must be that busy for a reason though! more

What happened to this place? 3/6/2006

This place used to have the hottest employees. It was enough to make me go there and spend too much money on a pizza. I don't know what's up now. Even the pregnant manager or hostess stares too much, which is very scary. Good, tasty, fatty, barfood. Try the pepperoni rolls, thin crust, and hot cookie with ice cream! more

Thin Crust Pizza 6/14/2005

This is the Best Pizza in Town. Perfectly cooked every time I go there! Pros: Inexpensive, Easy to Park, Exceptional Food more

neither here nor there 1/30/2003

First, the good: the bartender was both friendly and knowledgeable. Old Chicago's beer selection is excellent, you will definitely find something to your taste, particularly if you like draft beers. Only William's has a larger selection (though it has a MUCH larger selection). My nachos were fine. The bad is that this place is dirty or seedy (I could not tell) and has no atmosphere whatsoever. I left feeling I had not dined out at all, and that for 16 dollars! Pros: beer selection Cons: atmosphere more
