This is/was the best bar in the city. Is it still open? It's been shuttered up for awhile, so I'm hoping that it's just closed for the summer. Eastern European to the core, this place reminds me of the dingy, poorly-lit dive bars that exist in the shady back-alleys of Moscow. You can get a HEALTHY dose of vodka for about $3.50 while you try to make out the picture on the rabbit-ears tv set on the dresser in the corner of the room. Snuggle up to the formicaed bar and chat with the Polish bar maid or take a shabby seat at a table. Don't be too kind to the people who look like they belong there (if you're reading this, you're not one of these people) or their girlfriends - just enjoy the cheap booze and be quietly and conservatively respectful of this shrine to post-Soviet alcoholism.
Pros: Inexpensive, Divey, Ambience
