Ober Gatlinburg

We have been a couple of times and enjoyed ourselves. We really like the alpine slide. The trip up is also a great view, though you can drive up there if you don't want the expense of the lift. A bit on the pricey side though. more

Horrible experience at Ober Gatlinburg. I waited in line on 12/29/10 starting at 7:30 am for 1 hour to get a ticket for the cable car, 30 additional minutes to get on the cable car, then I stood out in the cold at the top of the mountain for another 1 1/2 hours to get snow tubing tickets for my family. After waiting in line all of this time (3 HOURS), and still at least 30 minutes from actually making it to the damn ticket window, an Ober employee told me that I had to have all of my family with me in the line so the wristbands could be put on my family. Absolutely ridiculous. Why wouldn?t you tell me this at the bottom of the mountain or on your website or in your brochure. More importantly, why would I have my family get in line with me at 7:30 am and stand in line (in the cold) for 3 hours for tubing tickets to be used 8 hours later at 5 pm. I stood in line all that time so my family DIDN?t have to. In the end, after standing in lines for over 3 hours, I left mad and disgusted, more

I have been to Ober Gatlinburg twice. They have games, carts, a food court, a downhill sled, and ice skating. But the tram itself is the best part. I have been once during the day, and once at night. The views are great during the day, and at night, I was blown away, if you want a breathtaking view go on the tram at night. The downhill sledding was fun too, but of your not careful you can slip and skin up your knee or elbow. more

They have an indoor iceskating rink, a cement sled type thing outside, and shops and arcades inside that you can buy gifts or win prizes at. You can reach Ober Gatlinburg by either driving up, or taking the tram......I recomend taking the tram just for the sights on the way up. Also there are carnival type games inside that you can play and win prizes at. Just make sure to take plenty of money incase you have trouble winning the prizes. more

Ober Gatlinburg is a lot of fun! Ice skating, skiing, and games. We went ice skating there on our last visit and had a blast. The skiing is pretty casual, so beginners won't feel intimidated. Have fun! more
