Obadiah Salon

After waiting 10 weeks for an appointment with Arpad to use my Groupon, it was cancelled 3 hours prior to the scheduled time. The next appointment offered was in an additional 6 weeks' time. In attempt to work out something to get in sooner, phone messages went unreturned, and when Arpad finally got on the line, he wasn't easy to negotiate with, to say the least. Definitely not worth the hassle. Luckily Groupon is refunding money spent. more

I moved to bellevue from Cali nine months ago. I've tried out three hairstylist so far with no luck. I went on city search and read all the reviews and decided to give Holly at Obadiah salon a try. I had a great time with this stylist. She spent a long time listening and asking questions, trying to grasp what I was looking for and offering great ideas. She is the first stylist ever to get my color right and I'm from LA where there is amazing stylist by the numbers but Holly is better. ps after I read the reviews I tried to see Stephen first but this stylist no longer works at Obadiah. so see Holly! more

I won't trust anyone else with my hair. Stephen has been doing my hair for 8 years and I won't go anywhere else. He knows color and his cuts are always beautiful and grow out great!! Two BIG thumbs up. more

Arpad gave me the best hair cut I have ever had. Its so easy to style and looks awesome all the time. I have curly frizzy hair, we did the keratin smoothing on it as well...so worth the money! I was going to another salon which I will not mention; but the salon name is the lucky number ? long story short...had to get the wost hair cut of my life fixed. Did some research and found Arpad. I have been a client of Arpad's for 11 years. I have moved away and flown back to Washington just to get my hair cut. Arpad is always ahead of the trends so you will be in great hands. I recently had my hair cut & colored by Stephen at Obadiah in Bellevue. I had read several reviews online saying he is a genius with cuts and color. I sincerely disagree. First, it took Stephen over 2 hours to do an all over color and a trim. I have naturally dark blonde hair and color my hair light brown. I asked to go just a shade darker than my natural and now I have VERY dark brown hair, darker at the ends and my roots almost look like they lifted. The cut wasn't much better, I can't quite figure out what he did, but I can't figure out a style that works with it. To top it all off, when he dried my hair (which is naturally wavy, frizzy) he used a hair dryer and kind of round brushed it in the front. I think he was going to let me leave this way, so I asked if he was going to do all of my hair. Of course, now it was completely dry, so it was flat and frizzy. Not to mention he parted it down the middle. It was a Friday night and he let me walk out of the salon with frizzy unstyled hippie hair. I had to cancel plans for dinner and go straight home because my hair looked worse when I left the salon than when I got there. I would NOT recommend going to Stephen for anything. If I am going to spend $200 for a cut & color, I expect to be able to walk out the salon with good hair! more

I recently had my hair cut and colored in honor of my birthday. I saw Holly Hanson, we talked about doing something different for my color. I typically stick close to my natural color, this time we went dramatic. I love that my hair still looks natural but is a wonderful dark red. I will be back to see her again, she makes your experience comfortable and personable. more

I have been going to Nancy Navarrete for a little over a year now and will go to no one else. I went in and she welcomed me with a great smile and took me to clean my hair. She asked what i wanted and gave me the exact haircut I wanted but better. To top it off her prices are very reasonable. I was exceptionaly happy with my haircut and will be going back soon for a very long time. more

I just moved to the seattle area about a year ago and have been on the search for a good hairsylist ever sense. You would think in a large modern city it would be easy but I have had to worst luck, but then i was referred to Holly at Obadiah salon.... Thankgoodness cause I have never had such amazing highlights and cut Ever.. not even back home in LA. I had booked this bridal hair trial a week in advance and was told it would take an hour but when I got there the hair stylist thought I was there for a hair cut! she put me thru a hair wash then she spent nearly 45 mins curling my hair w/o a curler (just a hair dryer, brush and clips!). quite a few times she asked me to sit further down into the chair or slouch because she is too short to reach the top of my head (Im 5'4" - that's already short!). so after all that and putting my hair into a "cooker" she comes back in 2 mins to inform me that she needed to rush thru the curls because she was already 15 mins behind! my appt started @ 230pm and it was now 345pm and im in the cooker for another 3 mins. then she asks me to sit further down again! what if i had issue w/my back?? then she really did rush my hair! she gave my hair lots of body which i didn't mind! before we even started all this i specifically said i didn't want the braid to be incorporated into my hair but laying on top of hair and what does she do?? she braids it half way back into the hair!! im told the products are supposed to stay in my hair and keep the curls til the next day (my hair wasn't exactly curly when i left). It was already flat when i got home (oh i left at 4pm!!) Pros: explaining what each hair product does Cons: wasnt' scheduled for enuf time/hair stylist too short! more

My sister has been seeing Stephen the last year. When I moved to Bellevue from San Diego I knew I could trust my sister because she is a hard one to please and so if she recommends someone she got excellent service. I was pleasantly surprised when she told me about Stephen at Obadiah. She was recommended from a friend she worked with at Eddie Bauer. He listened to what I wanted. I really wanted to go a little darker. I have dark eyes and blonde hair and I had seriously damaged my hair from all the bleach over the years I have put in it. So he changed my blonde hair to a beautiful chocolate color. I couldn't believe how much color it put back in my face and changed my damaged hair to soft and shiny. I am a very happy client and I am looking forward to my next visit to Stephen. I am grateful my sister told me about him. I love my new hair color! Thanks to reading reviews on City Search I found my new stylist Stephen! I moved to Seattle from Santa Monica recently and didn't know if I would find a great stylist that is great with color and cutting. I read that he was great with color and it was right on. I basically asked Stephen what he thought would look best and Stephen changed my dirty blonde color to the most gorgeous chocolate color with honey highlights. I like short haircuts but never had the guts to cut my hair from shoulder length to around the chin. I took and chance and had him cut my hair like Victoria Beckhams haircut. I love it and am having a blast with my new haircut. It is really easy to style and go. When you have no idea what you want to do with your hair, color, style etc - GABE is the man at Obadiah who resolves all the mysteries. I have been seeing Gabe now for over 9 years and he has literally transformed my hair style. His attention to detail, personality, and ability to give you what you need is beyond reproach. I have had the same cut and color for years, I always ask for a change but nobody will go there. I always leave looking the same or if I get a change I can never manage to create the same look...until I met Gabe Walton! He is not just a hair stylist he is a hair God!!! He is fluent in color, design ,and styling. He spent time talking to me about what I like, my comfort level and what I can and can not do in the styling department. From there he gave me a cut and color that flattered me and educated me on what he was doing as he styled so I could look just as great every day after. He is a true talent and so very charming too! Apryl has been doing my hair for several years. She always comes up with styles that keep me looking fresh and hip. She has amazing personality, and she always takes time to listen to me. I recommended her to my family, and friends who can't stop raving about her. I feel like a hair pimp, I recommend her so much. If you get your hair hair done by her ask her for the figure 8, it is the best head message you will ever get while she is shampooing you. Another fun thing she does is word of the day, if you get it you get a prize, I personally never have gotten it, but I think the word is pay me (lol). Serenity Wallen is the creme del la creme of the haircutting world. She has such vision when I come in to see her. When I see her every two weeks or so, I say Serenity my hair is your canvass lets make art. And she does. She is an inspiration to the hair world, and mine. I had no idea what to do with my hair - it was long, frizzy, and I always wore it in a ponytail, and rarely colored my hair (maybe like 3 times in my whole life got it highlighted to switch it up). My friend recommended that I go see Stephen - she had been seeing him for 5 years and I always loved how her hair looked - so stylish. She said I really needed a change. I went to Obadiah and loved the salon. I met Stephen and he took me back to his station. The thing I really liked about where he was located in the salon was that it was in a more private area of the salon. The main floor was packed with people and seemed a little louder (nothing wrong with that - just not me). I loved feeling the great energy in the salon but then having a nice peaceful surrounding to get my hair done. Stephen foiled my hair a beautiful blonde/honey color. I loved how it brought color to my face and brought out my features. He took the length from the middle of my back to a cute bob like Katie Holmes hair. I have incredibly thick hair and I always had haircuts from other people (definately NOT Stephen) that looked so choppy and never blended well together. Stephen took the time after blowdrying and flat ironing my hair to go through and dry cut and take weight out. That made such a huge difference how my cut and color looked. I loved my whole experience seeing Stephen from the salon, where his station was located, head and neck massage, and especially Stephen's hard work on my hair! I don't know what took me so long to do something different with my hair but I am so glad I made a change. :) Everyone loves it, especially me! :) This is very new for me getting attention with my hair but I am having fun with it!
