Awesome place to catch a show 8/20/2005

The Norva is a great place to catch a show, when you watch a show here there is a very intimate atmosphere. The artists here are usually not headliners, but then again they did bring in Michelle Branch, John Legend, so from time to time they do bring in the big names. The ticket prices aren't too shabby usually ten dollars for smaller shows but sometimes up to 30 for the bigger names. more

Good Musical Acts 8/8/2005

The Norva is a great place to catch the alternative acts in Hampton Roads. They often showcase muscians and bands that are too small to play the larger auditoriums but are still worth seeing. I caught Billy Idol there not too long ago and the concert was fantastic! However, you do have to watch out for the obnoxious drunks, as there do tend to be an awful lot of those at the Norva. Parking isn't fantastic since it's in downtown Norfolk, but this in no way detracts from the Norva itself. I'd highly recommend seeing a show here, even if only once ... it's definitely worth the experience. more

Tons of great bands in an unlikely place 6/25/2005

The Norva offers tons of great bands and solo acts from all over the nation and the world. The place is huge with an uptairs balcony that surrounds the stage, as well as a bar. The drinks are really expensive and the security can be pretty rude, but if you want to see a bigger name band, then the Norva is the place to be. I advise you bring cash with you, since their ATM charges a $5 surcharge. Going somewhere before the show and getting a few drinks somewhere on Granby St. is also recommended to avoid the high prices. Other than that, the Norva is still a top notch venue, and THE place to see shows in Norfolk and Hampton Roads. more
