I have been taking my dogs to Northwest Freeway Animal Clinic for nearly 12 years. I have always found the staff to be very friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate. Dr. Upton is obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about his profession. He genuinely cares about the well being of his patients and is very straightforward in communication with owners. In my opinion he has always gone out of his way to ensure the safety and health of my dogs. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I also have several friends that take their cats and dogs here and have never heard about any negative experiences. more

after reading these positive reviews, i decided to take my precious sweet dachshund to get her nails trimmed. i was very disappointed with the entire experience! the male tech cut too much off of her nails twice, blood was everywhere, and didn't care enough to clean the blood off from her paws. nor did he even apologize for hurting my baby. when i stepped in to comfort my little baby, the other vet tech by the name of christie, seemed agitated by this and seemed to take out her frustrations by holding on my baby girl even tighter. this clinic has very poor staff and i will not be returning! more

I've been going to Dr Upton for several years and I'm very pleased with his clinic. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. They treat my animals as if they were their own pets (and maybe even spoil them). It's a small clinic so they can take the time to explain the procedures and give extra attention to their patients. I highly recommend Northwest freeway animal clinic. more

NEVER USE NORTHWEST FREEWAY VET CLINIC 5/14/2012

I started bringing my 3 dogs to Northwest Veterinary four years ago when I heard how great Dr. Upton was from a neighbor. Today my dog had an accident playing and couldn't move her leg so I called around 5:15 pm. The receptionist did not seem interested in helping me and told me to go to a vet hospital. I wasn't sure that was necessary so I called back a little bit later to see about an appointment for the next day and she said they were booked and could not fit me in. I told her I felt like they should have some interest in helping me since I've been bringing my dogs there for over three years and I should hope they wouldn't want to lose a client over this. She said they had 3 emergencies that day and didn't have time for me. She also said that if I felt that way that was fine, they didn't mind losing our business. Never has a vet clinic ever treated me this way. I have 2 very old dogs and chose Northwest Freeway Vet Clinic because they were in our neighborhood (in case anything should happen). I was very upset so I called Oak Forest Vet Clinic and they fit me in first thing in the morning, and actually asked me many questions about my dog's issue and seemed genuinely concerned. I will NEVER use Northwest Freeway Vet Clinic again. more

Excellent! 4/29/2010

Been going to Dr. Upton for 15+ years. Very tenative , informative, honest. I won't go anywhere else. Isn't quick to diagnose or do surgery just because... I have sent many friends to him over the years, especially for second opinions and they've all been very pleased. Pros: Really cares about the animals! more

MOST CARING VETERINARIAN IN HOUSTON 10/1/2008

ABSOLUTELY The BEST, MOST GENTLE and KIND doctor I have ever met. Dr. Upton truly cares about animals and is very thoughtful in educating and talking with pet parents....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! more

Wonderful Care 7/9/2008

After conflicting test results from two vets working at another clinic, I became distraught and sought out a second opinion. Thankfully, I ended up in Dr Upton's clinic. He is attentive, caring, thorough, and patient. His demeanor with my dogs instantly put me at ease and his thoroughness with all the lab work and especially with his explanation of the results and treatment to follow were clear. One of the techs that works with him is fabulous. Highly recommend him. Pros: Dr. Upton's Cons: schedule appointments after peak traffic hours. 290 is horrible more

BEST VET CLINIC!!! 11/16/2007

We started with Dr. Upton as our vet in 1994 when our first female dachshund, Peaches was seven weeks old. Our boy dachshund, Georgie and second girl dachshund, Lizzie (both rescues) also see Dr. Upton. We moved from inside the loop to Seabrook in 1999, but continue to make the drive for our babies to see Dr. Upton. I understand that the oldest canine he has ever treated was a 21 year old dachshund. Dr. Upton seems to truly understand dachshunds, as well as animal parents who are absolutely devoted to their four-legged children. We have sent numerous friends' babies to NWAC when their own vets failed to produce results with illnesses. The staff is extremely kind and professional. Dr. Upton would never recommend a form of treatment for a four-legged baby that he wouldn't approve for his own collie. As far as my husband and I are concerned, there is NO other vet clinic than NWAC and NO other vet than Dr. Greg Upton!!! M. Jackson, Seabrook Pros: Convenient parking, reasonable pricing, professional staff, understandable. more
