Best

Great pizza - nice fresh ingredients.

Worst

The sausage sandwich was just okay ... the bread was really soggy. It should have been packed differently for delivery.

Not very good (smells great, though ...) pizza 4/15/2006

I used to love North Beach Pizza when I bought it in San Francisco but I just don't like it either anymore or in San Mateo. Their pizza is pretty oily and I just don't like the taste. There is nothing special about it. The customer service is good, though, and it smells great walking around town but it's not worth it for the pizza. more

This place has great service. The people that work there are very friendly and very nice. Great food. They have a wide variety or food. Very nice place for you and your friends. I have been there a couple of times and I have enjoyed every single time I did go. My friends introduced me to this place and I am doing the same to you. Enjoy. more

Not Bad, but too much Cheese! 1/16/2006

I have eaten here a lot, but I gave up on the pizza a long time ago. For one, they smother it in too much cheese, and it always makes a greasy mess. The crust is too chewy too. The combinations are too weird. They don't do garlic bread very well either. Where they do shine are the pasta combination dinners. They give a lot of food for the money, often two people of normal appetite can split one order if they add a side of soup. The minestrone soup here is awesome, fresh cooked and authentic. The steamed or sautéed vegetables are a healthy choice too. The menu is large, and pizza is just a small part of it! more

North Beach Pizza. . 11/25/2005

I've known about North Beach Pizza for a long time. But I've only eaten from there like twice. Not that its bad but I just dont go there alot. My family and I ordered from there once and I thought the Pizza wasnt the best,I didnt like how they made it. It was layered weird, first it was the bread, then the pepporonis, and the cheese on top of the pepporoni. I thought that was kinda weird...I dont like that. But their other food seems good..like I think they have pasta and other really good food. more

Good Pizza 7/5/2004

If you're in San Mateo and in the mood for za, you won't go wrong at North Beach. Along with Amicis, it is the place to go in San Mateo. Or at least used to be. Since I have been away for the last three years, it's certainly possible that a new champion has emerged. more
