I can see and read without glasses! 6/29/2011

I first met Doctor Shannon Wong in 1997. He preformed LASIK on both eyes and I was instantly able to see perfectly without my glasses. Fast forward 14 years. I am now 44. I returned to Austin Eye because I was having trouble reading due to the onset of presbyopia and was tired of wearing glasses to read or not having them when I needed them. I am happy to say that I am posting this without the use of glasses. Dr. Wong and Austin Eye have me seeing and reading again. I can use my cellphone without looking like an old man and even read the menu in my favorite dimly lit restaurant without the use of a candle and reading glasses. This is one of the best run medical offices I have ever experienced. I am always surprised by how fast I am brought back and how soon Dr Wong is there to see me. It seems as though I am never waiting. Even the day of my procedure I was done and on my way just 40 minutes after arriving. Doctor Wong has always taken the time to answer every question I've asked (I ask a lot) and in a manner I can understand, often using pictures :) to describe what is going on. We are very lucky to have Austin Eye and Doctor Wong in Austin. I wouldn't let my family or friends go anywhere else. Rick Culleton Discount Electronics more

Rip OFF!! 3/2/2009

They charge a 75$ fee for contact fitting. I asked them to explain the fee.. Their response was, ""The doctor charges a 75$ fee to write the prescription for contacts."" This is an out of pocket fee that they will not file through insurance. Rip off! more

Assembly line production 1/2/2008

Uughh -- if you want to feel like you're in an assembly line, try this practice. I purchased contacts and when I opened one of the packets, there was no contact. I called the practice for a contact, and was provided an expired contact. Needless to say, I took my eye care needs elsewhere. Pros: centrally located Cons: eye care assembly/production line more
