Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport

The Newport News-Williamsburg Airport is very small, which is good and bad. There is very little entertainment or dining options (just one), but it is VERY easy! Security is normally super fast, parking is convenient, prices are competitive, and there are enough flights daily to connect to anywhere (Philly, Atlanta, Boston, NYC). One of my favorite places to fly from because of the simplicity. more

Recently drove a friend to the airport. The signs to the airport were visible from the highway and allowed for plenty of time to get off on the exit. Only a few turns from the exit off the highway. Getting to the airline departure area was easy and clearly marked. Parking area was also reasonably priced. Exiting the airport was easy but there was one turn that wasn't as easily marked to get back on the highway for those not familiar with the area. more

The Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport is a small but decent airport. If you're picking someone up there, I'd recommend getting there as late as possible - there's really not much in the way of entertainment. However, there are a few vending machines, TVs, and a cafe-like kiosk for those who must spend some time there - the cafe has great flavored coffee. The employees are fairly friendly and the building always seems clean. The parking situation isn't horrible, but don't expect to get a spot anywhere near the building - they usually fill up fast. Air Tran flies out of Newport News, which is great for travelers on a budget. All in all, the Newport News airport is an all-around nice little airport - highly recommended. more
