Really bad clinic 2/23/2011

This is the worst place I have ever been. The staff is awful and the physician is just stupid. Go to the Jones Institute. They are the best in the area. more

Horrible patient care by both medical and administrative staff 1/15/2011

Our first complaint was the wait time, and not in the waiting room. The New Hope Center staff repeatedly would call my husband and me to a room, have me give a urine sample, undress, and then sit for as long as an hour, naked from the waist down, waiting for either an ultrasound technician or doctor, depending on the appointment. I have no idea why they feel the need to do this - I have seen a multitude of doctors over the years for various things and have never waited this long in an exam room.\r \r Speaking of ultrasound technicians, I had the good fortune of being trained-in on by a new technician, twice. For $340 an ultrasound, I found this to be absolutely mind-blowing. The more experienced technician was in the room writing down the information while the young woman in-training used the probe. She clearly had no idea what she was doing. After the second time this happened I finally complained to one of the doctors. Infertility treatments are far too expensive to have inexper more

Terrible Experience!!! 10/26/2010

I DO NOT recommend the New Hope Center in VA Beach. My husband and I had a very terrible experience there regarding the financial disclosure. I feel they were very unethical. Not only were we given bad news, we were taken advantage of financially. I ended up transferring to the Jones Institute in Norfolk. They were like a breath of fresh air! They were very up front about their pricing and the business woman there is extremely nice and up front. They truly work for your best interest. Not to mention they are world renown! My husband and I were successful there and I'm now 12 weeks pregnant on our fist try via IVF-ICSI. I highly recommend the Jones Institute in Norfolk! more

Only one flaw but a big one! 9/27/2010

I have to agree with Diane C. about the Insufficient Financial Disclosure with New Hope Center. My wife and I switched to New Hope after the doctor at the Jone's Institute put my wife at risk misdiagnosing my wife's ectopic pregnancy twice! New Hope staff is very wonderful except for one major flaw...they will not tell you how much anything costs especially when it comes to lab tests. We already knew our insurance wouldn't cover anything and yet the answer we would get if we asked how much the labs, IVF, and IUI we would be put in with a financial counselor who would just tell us about getting insurance that can cover IVF by getting a part time job at Target. Today we my wife and I received bills just for test in excess of $2,000 and we haven't even received the bill for our first IUI. I'm afraid that we are going to be in the same boat as Diane as we were also trying to save for a house. Now we might have no baby and no home! more

Insufficient Financial Disclosure 7/15/2010

We were very excited to be working with the New Hope center in trying to have a second child. I went through a whirlwind of testing and consultations. When we finally decided to go ahead with the IVF we received several bills for labs that were in excess of $10,000. My husband and I had several financial consultations with the New Hope Center and had asked up front about all the costs. We were told that labs would be billed separately but it was never explained that the cost of those labs could potentially be that high. We were also told that they used a particular lab company but it ended up that all my labs were performed by another company. When I called to talk to them they insisted that it was my responsibility to contact the lab company (the one that they said would be performing the labs) to get all of the costs prior to having the tests performed, yet I was never given a list of the tests so I would not be able to obtain the cost information. New Hope Center is the Best 6/30/2010

Dr. Robin, Dr. Perez and all of the staff at the New Hope Center are phenomenal. They treat everyone with respect and are widely respected as one of the best IVF Centers in the country. We went through a lot before my husband and I found success with Dr. Robin. \r \r The only other option in town is the Jones Institute which is in an academic setting. As a result it is cold, institutional feeling, and not a very good experience. Anyone in the Hampton Roads or Northeast North Carolina should look to Dr. Robin and Perez as their first and only option. more

I do NOT recommend the New Hope Center 4/11/2008

I do NOT recommend the New Hope Center. I had a terrible experience. I ovulated during IVF loosing all of my eggs. I told Dr. Robin that I felt like I was ovulating during one of my check ups. Dr. Robin did not say a word. Then next day I was called and told I had to come into the office immediately (forcing me to have to leave my job in a panic). I was told that some levels in my blood had dropped and it was time to retrieve my eggs. The following day, during the procedure there where no eggs to retieve. Dr. Robin made me and my husband wait in a confernece room for a long time. Finally, she came in to tell me that no eggs were found in my follicles and that "I was the ONLY person this have EVER happended to". She never mentioned that I told her I knew I was ovulating. She never admitted to screwing up. I have since spoken to other IVF patients and medical personnel. I was told that this is not unusual. A very committed, caring facility in treatment for infertility. 6/23/2006

I have New Hope Center to thank for my twins. They specialize in infertility treatments. I found this center after several years of poor treatment at the military facilities. I was so fortunate to have found them! They are super caring, very sensitive to thier patients needs, and very successful in thier work! They definately went the extra mile with our care. One of my favorite people to see there is Jan, she followed me closely through all of my treatment. They also treat for PCOS. Dr. Robin is a wonderful doctor and she runs a very efficient center. There are about 1300 babies that are products of thier loving treatments! That's alot of babies!! PROS: Great location, nice soothing office atmosphere, caring environment. CONS: more
