I am writing finally after at least 4 disappointing visits over the last 1.5 years to the NBI, and I am a longtime local. Years ago, it was a great place but I don't believe they ever hired any new talent, obviously they don't pay for talent. Thge food sucks. Last night was the absolute end for me. Sorry. We decided to stop in on ""a chance"" we might get a decent plate of food and it was Prime Rib night $11.95 -- not alot of money, but alot when youre pinched. We saw it come out for others and it looked and smelled good so we tried it. This was the most PRIMELESS griselled, fattiest piece of meat I ever encountered in a restuarant. I don't think there was ONE tender bite of this ""Prime"" Rib. It was more like bad chuck. Their fries are always either undercooked or overcookied but either way are drenched with oil, their wings are dried broken bones. The overlit orange dining room with the torn vinyl booths and tables jammed against each other is uncomfortable. The bartenders are immature self-thought muscle jocks who are hyped on steroids or meth or both. Anthony Bourdain wrote years ago if you want to know if a restaurant's kitchen is clean, judge by their bathrooms....I don't need to elaborate here. You can smell the urinals from the dining room. The place has become a dive for Peter Pan sports-insane drunks and bimbos on Welfare. Pay no attention to all their past honors as the BEST of BUCKS and Philly Mag's BEST -- they are lies. I wish they would fix it up.
