Dark dirty dingy disgusting 1/18/2010

Good: leaving. Bad: the bread was hard, the tips were tough and too burnt for my medium rare request. the bartender never got off her cell phone and was to busy with the waiter and her phone call to ask how our food was. when asked to see the manager I was ignored and told by the hostess it was the bartenders father and not to bother-. Improvements: possibly the bar counter top washed with soap and water and the staff with clean uniforms. She was a wrinkled mess. It was just unproffessional and dirty. Eddie Andelman must be eating there for free because Ive had better tips at IHOP.. Other: When I used the ladies room I encountered a waitress and the hostess I had spoke to.They told me the owner would have only humiliated me if speaking against his daughter-that he is a real jerk but they need their jobs! What a great restaurant! I would love them working for me!. more

Always satisfied customers! 5/11/2009

A 50's style building that has very good food, big portions, low prices. No one goes there for the atmosphere, they go for big, delicious meals for little money. I drive 100 miles for their wonderful huge meals with a salad. Try the yummy house dressing. It is most difficult to believe the less than satisfied reviewers. All in two days. The competition must have written these untrue reviews. --MidnightMagic more

Raw Tips and cold rice 5/9/2009

Good: I have always gone to the Newbridge Cafe because let's face it, the food is really good so who cares if the wait staff blows!! As long as the food is good. Every time I have ever been there, I have never had a good experience with any of the wait staff. I think they are all horrible each and every one of them. No personalities, No friendliness, It really should have been like a take out place or something. I have no idea where they got all there employees. I mean did they just drag people in off the streets. Bad: The last time I went in there, I ordered my tips well they came out raw with cold rice. I just took it home because it does no good to complain in that place becuase the owner will just tell you to screw and the wait staff will be behind you opening up the door. So you just keep going in for the tips the rice and the dressing. And just expect to get the worst service no matter what. And it's a giving that you must tip 20 percent other wise you will be chased out the door and told off. Kind of funny NOT!!!!!. Improvements: Hands down better wait staff. Rarely do you get bad food in there. The few times that you do, it's just so dissapointing because it's the only thing they have got going for them. A word to the wise don't send your food back in their because who know's how its coming back out to your table. I mean really it's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Horrible service from the waitresses to the owners. But Dam It if they don't have good food. Imagine if the waitresses had even just a little bit of personalities. Wow. more

Blind Guy 5/9/2009

Bad: I was in the "Newbridge" one afternoon having lunch with a friend when a blind man walked in wanting to sit at a certain table. Some waitress came flying over to him and started giving this poor man a real hard time about it. Me and my friend were shocked. I offered him my table but he said something about the light at that table helped him see better. The waitress was screming at him. " You have to wait just like everyone else!! I'm not waiting on you! I was so shocked by that. The man's blind!!. Other: What would be the problem with giving this poor blind guy a seat were he could see better. I just hope that someone in her family never goes blind or handicapped. God Forbid! I've never seen anyone treat a handicapped person so rudely in my life. The guy actually stayed and waited for the table. If that was me I would have just left and never came back. But who know's, maybe that's the only restaurant close to him, it could be the only place he knows how to get to and then to be treated like that. JESUS!!!!. more

The Best Around! 6/30/2008

I've been eating the finest food here since the 70's. This is a great place with fast service, low prices, and large portions. They do serve coffee. When you are completely stuffed with any of their excellent food, there will be no room for dessert. Their steak and lamb tips are their signature meals and the large salads are divine. I ask for the house dressing. My quests and I have always felt rewarded eating there. Worth a 150 mile drive for the best food! -Toto more

NOT UP TO PAR 10/21/2007

No coffee no dessert no pickles with a hamburg. THEN TO TOP IT OFF THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS OR CHECKS ,, CASH ONLY OR GO TO THE ATM WHILE THEY HOLD SOMETHING OF YOURS... I DO NOT USE A DEBIT CARD AT ALL . HAD JUST ENOUGH FOR THE BILL AND A DOLLAR TIP FOR WHICH THE WAITRESS CHASED US OUT THE DOOR TO SEE WHY SHE ONLY GOT A DOLLAR, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE PLACE . MAYBE YOUR STEAK TIPS ARE GREAT BUT I AM SURE I WILL FIND SOME ELSEWHERE JUST AS GOOD . AND I WILL HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE WHILE I MAKE SURE THE WATTRESS RECEIVES THE 5 OR 6 DOLLAR TIP FOR MY BILL more

What do you expect from a bar 3/31/2007

It's basic grilled bar food, nothing special. They probably buy the tips already marinated from McKinnon's, a meat market next door in Everett, but I don't know for sure. The menu and the options at McKinnon's are uncannily similar. And, it's a bar. You want to eat dinne in a crowded bar? Our table didn't buy alcohol, so we got bad service on refills for diet coke or water. And, they don't serve dessert or coffee!?!?!? Gimme a break! more

Best Steak Tips 6/11/2006

I've been dining at the New Bridge Cafe for 5+ years. They have the BEST grilled Steak Tips! Their grilled lamb tips are fantastic, too. Great side dishes like rice pilaf florentine and homemade ziti and sauce. If you like french fries, you have to try theirs. First off, they are huge. Secondly, they are deep fried. They also served Italian dishes and from what I've seen on other diners plates, the food looks great. But I haven't been able to order anything but the Steak Tips! Great price, too!! more

Divine Steak Tips 3/26/2006

Forget eating in at this restaurant. It's kinda ugly and a little depressing but the food is fantastic. The steak tips are just divine. Try those or chicken limone. The portions are generous and you can choose your side (rice, enormous potato wedges, vegetables). This is a true neighborhood joint and the takeout section gets quite crowded but you'll always be satisfied. more

Very good food 3/16/2006

The New Bridge Cafe has the best steak tips anywhere- never mind the cheaper than average prices. The food here is American-inspired and all very good. The casual atmosphere is perfect for a quick meal. This is one of the best places to go near Logan airport without having to drive into the city. The service is good as the food. A hidden gem! more
