Quantity, not quality is what you get 9/11/2005

Ambience...""Next to the airport with a view"" really means loud planes roar by all the time and the stench from the outside rushes you into the dining room with too many open tables. No view and putrid odor. Food...Definitely not fresh and not worth the gas to get to the airport. So, most of the food is fried, no problem, but the food that wasn't....very tough and chewy, esp. prime rib. Old oysters. Tough fish. Tasteless dessert table...couldn't try all though. Unusually tough lobster is availble for $12 more. Better crab legs at a Chinese all-you-care-to-eat buffet. Service was good. Pros: "free" appetizers Cons: a landlocked seafood, buffet, empty restaraunt more

Do not understand negative reviews and comments 8/24/2005

We have dined here for twenty years. Whether dressed casually or not, we have always been treated wonderfully by all the staff. We have always found the buffet to be excellent no matter the time of night our arrival. This is the best place to take our out of town guests and customers. We have never experienced a ""bad night"" dining there. I would highly recommend this fine dining establishment. The only negative thing I can think of is that you are so full after dining here, you had rather go home and lounge instead of going to some of the clubs around town. more

Re: Does not live up to the hype 5/6/2005

In response to the review that New Orleans Manor 'does not live up to the hype'. This was obviously an uninformed opinion. My husband and I dined there one week ago today for his birthday. We were seated immediatley, something you don't find anywhere else. This place is run by a family who clearly cares about the experience you have at their restaurant. I hardly consider this restaurant 'pretentious'! The staff was very inviting and made no impression that they were trying to be 'selective'. As for the wine and salmon, it was wonderful. Most people not accustomed to being served wine at restaurants later learn that it is not traditionally filled to the top of the glass. Wine is something to be savored and enjoyed with your meal, not swilled like beer. I would recommend New Orleans Manor to anyone who would enjoy an exceptional restaurant. Pros: exceptional food, prompt service, friendly staff more

I LOVED THE NEW ORLEANS MANOR 5/5/2005

I have been to the Manor many, many times. Each time I must say I have been ""wowed"". The service is great. The food is great. It is just an all around great place to dine. It can be a little pricey but it is well worth it. You can return to the buffet as many times as you would like and you get great service at all times. This place is family owed and it shows with all the hospitality. Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: NOTHING more

Resa Beyer 3/2/2004

When I lived in Tennessee for 15 years, the New Orleans Manor was my favorite place to spend my special occasions. I had all my birthday dinners there, and my anniversary dinners. You always made the special days memorable....thanks Pros: great variety, cooked to perfection, fresh always more

Valentine's Day Madness 2/16/2004

Even though I40 was shut down the entire day on Valentine's, and everyone was late for their reservation... I had a wonderful experience! Every couple in Nashville was packed into the foyer at once. We were seated promptly, and the service was great. I have to say the food would have been so-so if it wouldn't have been for the Alaskan King Crab. The atmosphere and the staff were wonderful. I think it was all one family working that night. Even the children were bringing out complimentary oysters and breads. What a magical experience! Who cares about the price? It's worth it to have such an experience with someone you love. Pros: staff, the house, crab legs more

Great Food 8/1/2003

Great food ,Great Service, Great drinks, Cool house, free parking. Great desserts more

For special occasions. 1/7/2003

This is a great place for treating yourself or a loved one. The buffet is fantastic, with an amazing selection of Southern delights. It is pricey, but you are also paying for the lovely site and romantic ambience (yes, romantic, which is unusual for a buffet restaurant). I have been here twice and loved it. Pros: buffet selection, romantic ambience, beautiful site Cons: far from Nashville, expensive more

WOW WHAT A GREAT MEAL. 9/5/2002

THE NEW ORLEANS MANOR WAS GREAT. ALL YOU CAN EAT ALASKAN KING CRAB, MANY TYPES OF FISH, OYSTERS, AND SHRIMP. AND THE DESSERTS WERE TO DIE FOR. Pros: FOOD, SERVICE, easy to find Cons: 2 1/2 HOUR DRIVE more

Loved the MANOR 9/4/2002

We celebrate our anniversary w/ friend at the Manor every year. My husband is a country boy who hates ""fancy"" places but the food (quality & quantity) won him over. Be sure to TELL them if you want Smoking or Non Smoking. They don't always ask. This is a buffet style restaurant, but they bring drinks and appetizers to your table. Tea always tastes fresh but glass is unbelievably small. It's pricey, but we all felt the food was worth the money. King crab alone is worth it. save room for the desert table, too. Pros: food is excellent, plenty of parking, got our money's worth Cons: inconsistant service, tea glasses too SMALL more

Romantically Wonderful 7/16/2002

You get what you pay for and at New Orleans Manor, you get your moneys worth. The seafood is fresh and out of this world. The service is wonderful and the staff will get you anything you ask for if they have it. I have been there about 15 times and each time has been a wonderful experience. more

It was just ""OK"" 6/17/2002

I planned this dinner as a Fathers Day treat for my husband. The food was pretty good but the service was terrible. We had trouble getting the server to get our drinks to us. We had to ask 2 times for ""crab claw crackers"", the server kept insisting the legs were soft enough to get open with our hands. The waiter broke the cork off in the wine so I was pulling cork out of my glass all night. The food was good but for that price I expect better service. Pros: Romantic setting, Good parking, Good food Cons: Poor Service more
