New Monroeville Dodge

I had contacted Monroeville Dodge about purchasing a 2014 Durango. The dealership did not have the have the model in stock that I wanted. They did a dealer search and located one for me. Due to the drive time of 1 hour, I was unable to make it to the dealership that evening to put down the required deposit in order for Monroeville Dodge to go an pick up the Durango from another dealer. The salesman, Chad Carpenter, said that I could give him my credit card info and fill out a credit application over the phone to cover the deposit and that they needed and would have it for me the next day. I was then contacted the next morning @ 9:30am while I was at work to let me know the vehicle was there and they wanted to finalize the deal. I explained that I was work and was unable to talk. Chad Carpenter and the sales manager Jeff Yates continued to call and pressure me throughout the day. During these calls we tried to negotiate the cost of the navigation system. Jeff offered free tanks of gas, oil changes, etc. Jeff stated that he could fill my gas tank for me, but couldn't take anything more of the cost of the navigation. Jeff stated by giving me free gas instead, that this could be hidden from his supervisors and would offset the cost of the navigation. I texted Chad when I finished work to find out what time they were open to. He replied 9pm. I then texted him back to see how long it would take to get the Durango ready for delivery. I was ignored and didn't receive any communication back for two hours. In the mean time, my wife and I decided to get leave for the dealership anyway to make sure we got there in time since we had a 90 minute drive. When we were 5 minutes away from the dealership, I received a text from Chad stating that they sold the vehicle that I had put down a deposit on. This vehicle was my supposed to be my wife's anniversary present. This is the reason car dealerships and car salesman have a bad rap. Its dealerships like Monroeville Dodge. Buyer Beware--I have been purchasing cars for over 12 years (every three years) and I have never experienced anything like this. Based on the pattern of the reviews, they seem to have unethical sales practices. The first one involves taking your ss# and sending out the "rookie" and then the manger saves the day. They conducted our sales in reverse order. They told us a price, shook our hands, put the for sale sign on our used car, washed our new car, and then the finance person comes out and says we can do it, but for a hundred dollars more. Then, manipulation: deflect from the issue and talk about how bad other dealerships are. This place is one sale away from the Attorney General announcing an investigation-- drive a couple of miles and purchase somewhere else. more

I have less than great credit and went there to find a car they swore up and down they couldn't finance me, after sitting there for 4 hours with my 2 year old, I knew they were trying to haggle me because I was already approved at 2 separate car dealerships, I left and five minutes later they called me and told me I was approved for a brand new dodge caliber. Shady and very pushy!!!! I font like to be fanangled and they did it all day. I wouldn't recommend anyone go there! Just horrible!!!! more

Completely satisfied! Everything went smooth, fine and dandy. Was in and out and I have no complaints. Rob was great and will definitely be back. more

I bought a used car from the dodge dealership in Monroeville a few years ago. The salesman I went through is no longer there. My main complaint is that I said I didn't want to pay over a certain amount. They worked everything out to be less than this amount and I bought my car. They pressured me (well actually my Grandma) into buying one of their expensive warranties. Then after I bought the car they called me up and said they'd made a mistake in calculating taxes and I had to pay $500 more (over the price I had agreed to). I fought it but they wouldn't give in and eventually I just gave up and paid it. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anybody. more
