OMG! What douchebags!!! Honestly the most unethical real estate agent I ever dealt with, Regis Roumila. We accidentally overpaid by 1% and the buyer's broker is correcting our mistake and refunding our money but the actual agent we had a contract with, who owes us a ""fiduciary responsibility"" supposedly, refuses to refund us. He claims it is our fault we accidentally overpaid and deserve to lose that money. He claims it is the company that refuses to pay us back not him but refused to give the name of anyone in his company to which I can speak. He told me to go do my own research and hung up. Seriously, I do not recommend this company or this agent! Completely disregard the New York Real estate Boards Code of ethics and professional Practice. We have lost thousands of dollars. Our contracted agent has not looked after our interests... which is what he is supposed to agree on the contract and now we going to court to get our money back. Buying and selling in NYC is headache enough...Stay away from Regis Roumila!!! They shouldn't be licensed and we should be protected from such predatory agents. more

We were extremely turned off by a Nestseeker broker while visiting the Arris lofts in LIC recently. My wife and I were exploring the buildings in LIC, and this was one we wanted to further look into. We walked in to speak to the door man and concierge about the building. After they gave us several brokers to contact for availability, a man came hurrying out the door to greet us. He apparently lives in the building and works for Nestseekers. We told him we were interested in looking at a studio or 1 bed for sale in the building. He seemed all excited and asked about our budget and when we'd be ready to buy. I said we'd probably be able to afford a studio now but we'd rather wait until we can afford a 1-bed. I simply said that I own my own business and expect a big contract to close by the end of the year, and when I said we'd be ready to purchase in the winter or Spring of 2013, his body language totally changed on us....as if we were exhibiting symptoms of an airborne disease. He literally jerked his head away and started to walk backwards....it was incredible! Made for reality TV, really. My wife and I were in total shock. I said, ""soooo, um, that's it?...you don't wish to talk to us anymore?"" and the man replied, ""I can't help you, you don't want to buy now"" and walked away. No biz card, no exchange of email or pitch about helping us when we're ready....nothing but pompous behavior and unprofessionalism. I used to be a commercial RE agent, and I would never have given up the opportunity for a lead, especially if that lead was to turn hot in less than a year. And I certainly would never have been rude about not wanting a potential lead. Nowadays with email, if you're not a hot lead, brokers still want to grab your email and spam you so someday when you are a hot lead, they are the first people you think of for help. Not my first time unpleasant experience with this brokerage either. Just look at the reviews out there... not good. more

A new low in Manhattan Real Estate - Stay away 1/10/2012

These people were unprofessional from the start, and simply thieves at the finish. Three months later I am still owed a returned deposit for an unsuccessful apt. application. It is not just the immature and wildly unprofessional broker and her assistant whom I worked with, but clearly the whole outfit, since I have contually contacted her superior in an effort to get my money back (and it is not a small sum!) and her supervisor has done nothing but give me the same kind of double talk and platitudinous assurances that it will all be taken care of. These people should have their licenses revoked. more

I decided to write this review because I am really happy with my decision regards to renting in New York, My agent told me that he will not show me apartments that he will not live in and so it was, first time we looked at apartments I found the one I wanted, had the deal done in 2 days with signed leases and a move in date, perfect. more

Stay away from this broker. 2/8/2011

My experience with Nest Seekers, in particular with one of their real estate agents: Shu-Fen Striedter was an absolute outrage and nightmare. As a real estate agent, she is bound to represent her clients ethically and fairly. We saw none of the qualities she describes on her profile. From experience, she is NOT ?extremely organized, efficient or detail oriented? as she claims on her profile. On the contrary, she mis-represented our offer price to the sales team, as evidenced through e-mail chains. When she approached our family with her revised number, we obviously declined and questioned her intentions. Shu-Fen could not provide us with a sufficient reason why she mis-represented our offer. On top of the already present lunacy, she the continued to berate my family, in particular my younger sister (who, by the way, is in her 20s) calling her a ?spoiled brat? and to ?see a therapist? when we approached her about the conversation she had with the buildings sales team. All of this verbiage is referenced in numerous unprofessional e-mail chains, which can be forwarded, screenshot or printed for evidence. Additionally, the knowledge Shu-Fen claims to have is clearly not represented in her work with our family. Yet again, in another e-mail she threatened to disbar our family, due to ?illegal? rebates. Shu-Fen, let me educate you on your profession, rebates are COMLETELY legal and part of almost all real estate transactions. I would also encourage you to ?seek out a therapist?, as informing foreign buyers that you received your MBA from Wharton is a clear ethical violation, as your internet profile clearly states you went to Baruch. A 40yr professional should never degrade any conversation to the level spoken to my family; especially to my sister who is a woman 20 years her junior. It is a pathetic show of class and professionalism. I will never recommend this woman to work with any family. In particular, any foreign families as she will, without a doubt, take advantage of their language skills and use the family?s lack of real estate knowledge to her advantage. more

aka Bait and Switch 8/26/2008

You always have to look out for yourself a little in NYC with brokers, but be very wary of these budget brokers. My experience with them was terrible, and I would advise any one I meet to stay far away from this crowd. Do your homework on complaints and lawsuits filed against them, I wish I had. Pros: friendly and accessible Cons: will say anything to get the sale, keep changing the deal, and disappear when the deal is done. more

He took the sting out of finding an apartment. 6/11/2006

An associate recommended Derrick Damions at this company when he got a speedy corporate apartment. Derrick grilled me w/ LOTS of questions (which I thought was a bit much) until I realized every apartment he took me too was so right on the money & perfect - really felt like home...a huge time saver. He certainly looked out in my best interest and that's usually rare in this day/age, especially in this town. I recommend him in a NY minute. Pros: service, speed & answers. Cons: none. more

Home finders - very much so 7/21/2005

I thought the name ""Nest Seekers"" intriguing - and I was looking for someone to find me a home in New York City - a real, spacious home for my family. The great thing about Nest Seekers is that I got a team of brokers to work with me and I got what I wanted in the city. They say the real estate market is in a bubble - but I thought what Nest Seekers found me was perfect for my budget and my needs. Pros: reliable, knowledge-driven, energetic Cons: phone lines off more

Something different and fun in real estate 6/1/2005

Awesome Real Estate Company 4/14/2005

I was recently working with a number of real estate companies to help me find a home in New York City - and I was blown away by the level of service Nest Seekers agents have given me. They found me the 2 bedroom, 2 bath home that worked for me in a part of Manhattan that I love. They also made the whole schlepping to look at apartments and the annoying money, mortgage, credit check stuff way more doable. Pros: fast, really nice, easy to work with more
