Nemirov Steven A DO

Dr. Steven Nemirov has been my Dr. for a number of years now. At last I have a Dr. that is caring, professional and knows his stuff. He always provided great care and annual physicals, giving me good life-style choice advice. He was diligent in making me take a colonoscopy (without being pushy). Eventually I found time to do so, and the results showed several pre-cancerous polyps. He referred me to a great surgeon and we got it sorted with a partial colectomy. I had a 40% chance of dying from colon cancer in 10-15 years time. This Dr. and his recommended surgeon saved my life! Like another commenter I too had a past-due bill that I?d forgotten about. No heavy handedness for me ? just a gentle reminder and it was sorted. I really dislike it when folks complain that they are being chased on payments. If you owe a bill, pay it! Honesty is always the best policy in my mind! Doctor Nemirov is thoroughly recommended by me and my family. more

Dr. Nemirov has been the family doctor to my wife and I for nearly 2 decades. I'm one of those guys who doesn't go to the doctor unless he's sick, and in the 90's I was, and his work was fine. My most recent check up he started asking leading questions seemingly out of context to our discussion or how I was feeling - questions that would lead to his prescribing medication. My wife sees him much more frequently, and took his advice on medications, which we now believe were unnecessary. The most recent incident occurred over a VERY small past due bill. One of those hardball reactions that was over the top in the context of the amount, the age of the bill, and our long history with the doctor. I think he must be under severe financial strain, and is all about the money now. So after nearly 20 years we'll happily look for a better doctor. Pros: used to be ok, but ... Dr. Nemirov has been my husaband's and my doctor since 1994. I am 55 years old and he is one of the most outstanding doctors I have ever been to - is the most outstanding Internal Medicine doctor. He is not only extremely knowledgeable on all areas of medicine, but also extremely down-to-earth and communicative. He has never ever brushed off a question or a concern and takes time to thoroughly understand and explain. He is a doctor who wants to know how things in your life are going with respect to stresses that may be harmful to health. When my father in Florida had a severe stroke, Dr. Nemirov spent much time with me explaining stroke, answering my questions, helping me cope. He was extremely helpful to my being able to competently aid my father's rehabilitation during my bi-weekly trips to Florida. He provided this assistance even though he had no financial benefit from it at all. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Nemirov. Pros: Can't say enough good about Dr. Nemirov - he's wonderful. Cons: There aren't any, other than I travel all the way from Fremont to San Jose to go to him. more
