I had never used their facility/services before until today, 20 Dec 2015. I discovered that my male basset hound, aka Moose was unable to walk and dragging his hind legs/hindquarters. Examination revealed that he had suffered a ruptured disc, at his age, successful surgery was not likely. They did not run up the cost by doing tests. They did not take advantage of an already emotional situation. They were kind, compassionate , and presented us with a clay mode with Moose's footprint pressed into the mode and his name printed above his foot print. I will treasure this memorial as it meant the world to me. I am so glad that I found them. more

Terrible 10/2/2013

I brought my 8 week old puppy here because when I rescued her she had fleas ticks and obviously had worms. She was 2 lbs at the time and the vet did not even try to be gentle with her. Didn't try at all to distract or comfort her while her puppy shot was given and when I asked if he could get a tick out of her ear he acted like I was wasting his time. He heaved a heavy annoyed sigh and rolled his eyes before doing his job. My puppy got sick the next day from the puppy shot so, unfortunately I had to go back and they made me sit in the waiting room as my puppy continuously threw up all over me for 15-20 minutes. This place is terrible. more

I took my dog to Neel Veterinary Hospital. She was 14 years old and it was obvious that she wasn't going to live too many more years. They ran all kinds of tests on her and told me she had kidney failure and an enlarged heart. They told me that they were going to pump her with all kinds of fluids. They presented me a $900 bill when it was apparent I could never pay all that off. I made payments on it for years and finally I got it payed off. They kept my dog alive when she should have been euthanized to begin with. I believe that they prolonged my dog's suffering to get a lot of money out of me. I ended up making payments for 4 years to a company that they arranged me to get credit with to pay the $900 bill. I believe that the interest rate was 29% a year. more

Predators 4/22/2013

This place preys on pet owners and their desire to do what ever it takes for their pets. Unfortunately, the incredible greed of this business leads them to employ not the best of staff. I had no idea I was taking my beloved cat to a reprimanded vet and the out come was tragic. \r Their business model lacks morality.\r \r http://www.okvetboard.com/\r http://www.vetabusenetwork.com/filecomplaint.htm more

LAWSUIT.......waiting to happen 3/28/2013

I need to know where to report Neel Vet to for malpractice. I took my dog to them last year because of an injury. When they were testing him they did a heartworm test (the snap test) and told me that he had heartworms and insisted that we started the treatment immediately! When they were telling me about the treatment they were extremely rude and told me he would have a slim chance of survival with any treatment. Obviously I was more than upset. They recommended starting on a slow processing treatment. After he was on this medication for over a month we were running low on antibiotics that they had prescribed. When I called to get them refilled I was called back three times by a nurse at the clinic saying to bring him back to the vet at once because the meds THEY PERSCRIBED and that we had picked up for him ( I had not picked up any yet) were wrong and detrimental to his health if he were to have taken them. I told the nurse we had no picked any up or given him and medication in over more

Misdiagnosed and Rude Secretaries! 6/25/2011

Misdiagnosed my dog three times. Nice vets; however, RUDE staff! The women at the counter were so mean. I didn't even talk to them and they glared at me and others in the clinic. RUDE! This clinic is better than some but it I wouldn't' trust them with a REAL emergency! more

Ehh. 4/22/2011

My first visit went amazingly well. Since I am a pet owner, I take full responsibility of all monetary issues and it has not and never will be a problem. Despite that, the doctor tried to provide me with an alternative and affordable medication. However, the next time I visited, the vet was completely stoic, unresponsive, and I'm pretty sure gave me the highest price medication without any alternative. Although I could go back and refer the friendly vet, that kind of just ruined it for me. more

UNANSWERED PHONE CALLS! 3/23/2011

. . . This is not the first time I've tried to use this clinic, because it is close to home. I've tried to call, in advance, to see how much money I was going to need for an office visit, or at least a ball park guesstimate, of what I might be looking at to walk in the door for certain injuries to my pets or to see if they have even have an avian vet on duty. Problem is, I can't ever get anyone to answer the phone! This is ridiculous that you can't get a person on the phone to ask general questions. Even if they answer and say, "I don't know", is better than letting the phone ring forever!!! NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE / RELATIONS in my opinion! Consequently, I've taken my pets other places that were probably cheaper. But, at least, they had the decency to at least answer the phone. I'm the stupid one for thinking Neel's would answer the phone, when I've experienced the same problem in the past... while I sat here watching my parrot nearly bleed to death!!! I'm glad I went somewhere else more

I love my animals! 3/12/2011

Horrible! They don't care about you or your animals! They try to get as never much money on each visit. You never see the same doctor. They injure your animals in boarding, then charge you. The grooming area keeps your animal for 12 hour spans, with no water or food! Horrible! Stay away! more

Quality care 2/12/2011

I have used Neel's Veterinary Hospital for several years and \r have been very happy! I also use Woodlake. They both offer quality care, friendly staff, approproiate dianogstic testing and wonderful caring doctors. I have used the boarding and the groomer. I think it is a great place! After calling around I learned that for what you get even the yearly shot package is a fair deal too. Sure you could save money if you don't do certain yearly tests but your pet could suffer in the long run. more

Awesome! 6/20/2010

Dr. Neel did an amazing job with my 1 year old Blue Heeler mix. He was sick with a condition called "Collie Nose" where he was losing his hair and developing bloody patches. Spent quality time with him and gave him 3 different prescriptions and he's on the road back to recovery, I already see an amazing difference! Will only ever go there! I don't care how expensive it is, they do a wonderful job compared to some other places that are cheaper. more

Best ever 3/14/2010

Neel Vet Hospital has the best staff and Drs. Better than fair price for services, always health and safety of the pet their primary concern. Explanations of pet condition on a laymans understanding, in a profesional and caring way. Any and all questions answered to your satisfaction, and encouragment if you have any questions at any time to call them, after all they are a 24/7 operation. Makes it convient for any emergency that may come up, after all emergencies don't happen 9 to 5 Monday thru Friday. Thinking of a vet give them a try.. Pros: Great people, great attitudes, animal concerned. more

Awesome Place! 4/1/2009

We had to make an emergency trip 3 times with our Rottwieler puppy. Thanks to their wonderful vets and techs we were able to catch her parvo-virus in the very first stages. She was only in the hospital for two days and came out right as rain. Now she loves to go there to see everyone. She's the only dog I've ever had that loves to go to the vet! Dr. Logan is awesome with her and answers anything we ask him about. I will definitely continue to take her and our other dog to Neel's from now on. I definitely recommend them!! more

Great Place!!! 5/14/2008

24-7 care without the emergency care price tag if before 10 pm. They also specialize in exotic pets. Very clean and wait time was minimal...although the several times I have been was before 10 pm on weeknights. They also have different payment options available. I definately would recommend this place!!!! more
