TootieFoodie is full of more crap than a X-mas turkey 11/23/2011

Nation wide freezer is great. I have seen them grinding fresh Harris Ranch sirloin to make their burgers. The bread is soft and fresh. The burgers are the BEST!!! Ok, now for the down side....it's not a white table cloth establishment. Who in the hell cares?? I'm eating a damn burger. The place isn't known for for the service...if you want service Tootie....go to Burger King...then you can have it your way. What a dope. My biggest regret is that I work and live a long way from NWFM's...so I only get them once in a while. But when I do, it is a great joy. Try em, you'll like em. P.S. The onion rings are great also. more

PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND THE SERVICE IS CR** 3/2/2011

The place is dump (plastic cheap seats, torn carpets, boxes of frying grease on the side exposed, have I given you a good picture yet?). The burger was decent, but was cold when I received it. Service was completely horrid and disgruntled. Save your time and go somewhere that doesn't scream trashy!!!!! more

not too bad, nothing memorable 7/1/2008

this place was kickback, very comfortable. the workers there seem a little rough but were actually quite pleasant. lots a seating and open space is a plus. got the original steak burger and it wasnt bad but wasnt great either. it was definitely high quality but the taste was just not memorable. the fries were big but really overrated in other reviews. the price for what you get is pretty reasonable, around the same as something you would get from chili's but without the service and sides. more

Great burgers 8/14/2007

I went to Nationwide Meats with three of my closest friends. At first I was worried of the place I chose judging it by the outside, but decided to still give it a try. The service was very personable. All four of us had the sirloin steak burger and we all agreed it was one of the best burgers we've eaten. They seemed to take a little long bringing us our burgers, but in the end biting into the juicy burger made it worth the wait. The fries themselves were cut huge and one serving was enough for two (or more) but I'm not a big potato fan so I stuck to enjoying my burger. I'll definitely be back again - I can't wait to try the steak sandwich next time. Pros: delicious juicy burgers served in a brown paper bag (nice touch) Cons: no free-refill machine, longer wait than fast-food, a tad on the pricey side for burgers more

Purists know Nationwide 1/15/2006

I have been going to Nationwide for 20+ years and have written many reviews like this. I go to the trouble because their steakburger is absolutely one-of-a-kind. It is the biggest, fattest, juiciest, tastiest no-apology-offered hamburger anywhere. The fries are exquisite in their simplicity: potatoes hacked into about four or five slices and deep-fried to perfection. They are more like roasted potatoes, really. I have never had the steak sandwich or anything but the steak burger. I once dared to eat a double but it was way too much. And the shakes -- well, when you find chunks of actual peanuts at the bottom of your peanut butter shake, you know you are not at any chain restaurant. There is no effort made to persuade, spin or market to you. They just make the burgers and you buy them -- over and over again. Pros: Excessively tasty, Excessively large, Excessively real Cons: Fattening, High Cholesterol, Messier than hell more

best burger in the world 12/27/2005

want a burger this is the place to go, been going there for years, fries are killer, the meat is second to none they use, everything is wonderful. Pros: great food, get what you pay for, bring a appitite Cons: parking more

Best Burger in Town 10/10/2005

I've tried them all and this is the best. Get the double with bacon - squirt some hot sauce on it and you're good to go. Pros: burgers, milkshakes, burgers Cons: price more

I'm already drooling 9/7/2005

Nationwide has one of the best burgers in town. Ground steak, fresh baked muzio bakery buns...everything about the burger is awesome. Beware, physical activity after eating a frenchburger, fries and a drink is quite a challenge, but oh so worth it! Pros: quality food, consistent, generous portions Cons: not open late enough more

User review by prncessleah 7/7/2005

I had gone to this burger joint about 6 months ago due to the urging of a friend. I have been told its one of the best burgers I will ever try and that was completely true of my trip. I ordered a cheeseburger with avocado. It was delicious and oozed all over my fingers, which in my opinion is a good thing. It was a big burger for the money I paid so I was more than satisifed and have been raving about it ever since. more

RiverLunchBreak 1/19/2005

I don't get the high reviews I've read so far. I walked into a plain restaurant, walked up to a counter with a clerk that had an unkept beard and baseball cap on. I ended up ordering a steak sandwich for $8.95. What I got was a brown bag with two pieces of round bread/buns with sliced steak in the middle. No salad, soup, french fries and no one waiting on tables. The meat was tender but very heavy with garlic. I expected a much larger menu, a steak sandwich with au jus and all the trimmings. Cons: , Over Priced, Limited Menu more

Best sirloin burgers! 11/20/2002

This is the place to go for a real hamburger. The ambience is lacking (it is basically a butcher shop with some tables added), but the sirloin burgers can't be beat. The fries are good also and consist of a whole potato cut into about six mammoth chunks. Pros: Quality, Portion sizes, Freshness Cons: Limited seating, Limited parking more

The best by far! 8/8/2002

They have the greatest hamburgers in Sacramento. Bring your appetite for the Frenchburgers. They have a size for everyone. And the fries are big and wonderful. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Pros: good location, friendly staff more
