Nans is the first Chinese and Japanese fusion restaurant in the city and it is BYOB. The service is great and the food is the best. Sushi is fresh and chinese food has NO msg. ...

Worst

sushi was the best thing. crab rangoons had weird spices and were very 'heavy'. weren't crispy and light like i like them. the rice was very mushy and overcooked.

Good Quick Chinese and Sushi 9/2/2008

My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday night. Got seated promptly, ordered promptly and food was great! Hot and a very large portion of food. I ordered Chinese and my boyfriend ordered Sushi. He enjoyed it and was served plenty on the entree. I also had a very large portion and appetizers were piping hot. Not super friendly but would recommend and continue to visit! Pros: Awesome food, hot and served relatively quick, priced appropriately Cons: Dont expect super friendly but pleasant more

owner is rude and food is just okay 7/26/2008

owner didn't answer my questions about my order and he hung up on me. When I arrived to pick up the food, he was visibly angry and throwing things around the kitchen. The staff noticed his behavior and apologized for him. Rolls are pretty good. Fried rice was terrible. Good luck if you choose to try this place. I'll never be back. more

The sushi was decent, but small-ish for the price, and the egg rolls were tasty, but didn't come with sweet & sour sauce (kind of important). Also, the pickled ginger looked a little dry, like it had been sitting out too long. Overall, a decent place for a bite, but the delivery guy was impolite and a bit clueless. more

An Enjoyable Experience 1/30/2008

dined here with some buddies last night and i must say that i had a very good time. The atmosphere was very conducive to what me and my friends wanted(to just have fun and eat good food). We all ordered chinese food(not adventurous enough for sushi) and not only was it served to quickly but it was darn good too. wish i found out about nan's sooner. Best Sushi and Chinese in Lincoln Park 1/29/2008

I order delivery from here all the time and I have to say their tofu is great! I love some of the new rolls that came out in the past three months or so. The Volcanoe 2, Super Spicy Tuna Crunch and the Spicy Dynamite Roll. All are good choices. I particularly like the Godzilla Roll and I Love the Vegetable Tofu. If you want quality food dine here or get a delivery. Pros: Great Food and Service Cons: No Comment! more

Best quality sushi for the price in Lincoln Park! 1/8/2008

Nan's has some of the most satisfing sushi for the price. You can enjoy yourself without going broke! I love the spicy tuna, philly, Red Carpet and Summer Maki's. The taste is unique to the restaurant and that is what makes Nan's special. Nan's is more then just a dining establishment, it's a place to gather with friends and family to relax and have a good time. Pros: Great Service, Reasonable Prices and Excellent Quality of Food! Cons: No Valet Parking! more

Little piece of Asia on Chicago's North Side 1/2/2008

My wife and I dined here the other night, and we have nothing but good things to say. The food was top quality, especially for the price, and the customer service was above and beyond. The atmosphere was just right for a nice romantic dinner. Definitely will be going here again. What a great find!!! more

Great Selection of Chinese and Japanese food! 9/18/2007

My husband and I were in the mood to try someplace new and couldn't decide on Chinese or Japanese food, so this restaurant was a fabulous choice because we could have both! The food was delicious! Both the Chinese and Japanese dishes were great! I particularly loved the seaweed salad and the mooshu pork! The owner also came to us to welcome us to the restaurant and check on us too. It is a great location, nice ambience and the price was really reasonable!!! Pros: Delicious food, great variety, fabulous prices more

Very fast service! 8/29/2007

Last week i walked into Nan's to have some sushi in the actual resturant not their carryout section. The staff was very polite and professional. The atmosphere was spectacular and the food was really good. When i was dining alone the owner himself, served me. Know that's reall passion for what you love to do in life. How many times do you get to meet the owner of a resturant, almost never because they hire other people to run it and they are out doing something else. But this indivdual has a deep passion for what he does, just by the way he spoke to me. The service is outstanding and the food is satisfying and fulfilling. I plan on bringing my friends to this place for an enjoyable night out! Pros: The Price, Quality and Service Cons: Only one location! more
