They are overpaid, filled with All-Stars, and still on the verge of not making it into the post season. As of now (August 2005) this is one of the New York Yankees' worst seasons...

tickets are pricey 4/15/2006

This historic stadium is cool, but a tad scary to go to at night. Neighborhood has changed a bit since it was new. Concessions are ridiculously priced so make sure you eat before you arrive. You also MUST arrive early and check out monument park beyond center field. Lots of baseball history here. Every baseball fan needs to get here at least once. more

I like them 8/19/2005

They are overpaid, filled with All-Stars, and still on the verge of not making it into the post season. As of now (August 2005) this is one of the New York Yankees' worst seasons ever. They have the potential but things are just not flowing right for them. The highest paid team in the Major Leagues are not performing well, that's a big disappointment. But with that said, they are still a great team. No matter what happens or how bad a season they might be having, I doubt any team in MLB would want to face the Yankees during the post season. The Yankees discussion could go on forever--so just know that if you're a baseball fan and in New York City, then go for a game. They are fun to watch! more

Hallowed ground, but much like the Yankees: overrated and expensive! 8/9/2005

I have gone to various games in Yankee Stadium, located in the Bronx at River Ave. and East 161st. The stadium is hallowed ground and home to some of the most famous baseball moments. This was once the home of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Phil Rizzuto, Reggie Jackson, Thurman Munson, and is the home of Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Don Mattingly (as a hitting coach) and Bernie Williams. The food, like most major league stadium fare, is good, but very overpriced. The team is almost always in contention, and that's exciting. But like the Yankees team itself, it's expensive and overrated. I'd go for the baseball history and experience, but not for the fare and the team. more
