Music City Honda

I knew exactly what I wanted. The 2011 4-door Civic Si, black, factory clean with no dealer add-on's like pin-striping, or the dealer sticker that come all cars. I wasn't interested in having ol' DW's name on my Civic. I talked to all the Honda dealers in the mid-TN area. Crest, Reddell, Darrel Waltrip, and Trickett. Crest and Waltrip were completely unhelpful. Neither seemed interested in what I wanted, they were only interested in selling what they had in stock already. They did have the car I wanted, but refused to remove the pin-striping and dealer sticker. Reddell had the car I wanted as well, and said that they would be happy to remove the add-on's, but the price was $1000 above MSRP. They couldn't seem to get to the MSRP, much less below it, no matter how much I negotiated. Then I emailed Dale Adkins over at Trickett. I told him exactly what I wanted. Trickett did not have my car on the lot at the time, but Dale somehow managed to find it at dealer in Kentucky. Negotiating price with Dale was easy. His first quote was well below the MSRP. I called Reddell to see if they wanted to match or go lower. They either could not or would not. Dale made a trip up to Kentucky in the wee hours of the morning, drove my car back to Rivergate, and I was on my merry way in my new car that afternoon. The total mileage on my car at the time of purchase was the 80 miles Dale had put on it driving it from Kentucky. In the end Dale and Trickett got me exactly what I wanted, without pressure, and I walked out $1000 under MSRP including fees and taxes. I may not have the Trickett dealer sticker on my car, but I'm real quick to tell people I bought my car at Trickett. more

I really hate buying new cars! I had put it off for too long, it was time to trade. I did a little online research on the type of car I wanted and prices at various local Dealers. I went to Trickett and told them what I wanted and in no time at all we had a deal. (In less than an hour!) They found the car I wanted in KY and had it in the next day with a full tank of gas and ready to go. Mr. Pirtle did a great job explaining all the accessories. I bought my first Honda from Trickett Honda in 1980. We currently have 3 Hondas in our household, ranging from a pre-owned 2000 Accord to a new 2011 Odyssey. I've lost track of how many Hondas we have bought since 1980, but every vehicle we've owned since then has been a Trickett Honda with one exception (or should I say ""mistake"" that the folks at Trickett gave me a generous trade-in one when it finally died). We believe we've always received a fair deal and the service at Trickett is unsurpassed and has been that way for over 30 years. Trickett Honda has earned our trust and our business for over 30 years and if I were able to drive for another 30 years, I'm sure that would continue. more

We wanted to look at the 2012 Insight and CRZ, and you had both available. Ron Barrett came outside in the cold and dark and showed us both cars, allowing my husband to take a test drive. I came later to drive the CRZ, and he asked another salesman to ride with me. That salesman used to work for Saturn, and as I had been driving an 18 year old Saturn SC2, we had much to reminisce about. When we decided to buy the car, Ron helped us negotiate the best price, and we bought two cars. It was a great experience. (Although for a while I received info on the Insight instead of the CRZ, but it all settled out._ more

We purchased a 2009 Honda Accord. It was a non-stress, no pressure environment. It was a much better experience than we've had at other dealerships. I plan to come back for future purchases. more

I must report that my experience at Trickett Honda was exceptional thanks to my salesman. He was kind and considerate with me even though I was trying to listen to the motor of the car by pressing on the breaks. Oh well I guess those are the breaks... Any hows, I got a car that will be suitable for my needs and the processing was fast and accurate. I received my tags and a follow up windshield wiper replacement in less than five days.Thanks guys for serving me up a great dish of happiness. more

I don't usually write a review because I don't like to sign up but for this, I made an exemption! \r \r Our experience this afternoon with Mr. Bill Steed was great!\r \r Honestly, I didn't like the idea of talking to a sales person specially about cars because I haven't really owned one. My husband was already worried that the sales person would be pushy so we both expected that it would be an unpleasant experience for us. We already planned how to escape when they become too pushy. :)\r \r Our plan was just for me to "test drive" a Honda Fit for the first but my husband and me didn't feel any pressure. (I have to add that I get stressed out easily specially when sales rep. are like; "u don't have money,do u?") \r Mr. Steed was very friendly, he found the color I want, gave us a good deal (I made a research abt d price ((: )and we really felt comfortable to buy the car. I am glad we did! more

I purchased a 2008 Honda Civic Sedan EX with Navigation. They even took the time to show me how to use all the functions on the Navigation system and voice commands! I am 61 years old and have purchased a few cars in my time. An 86-year-old gentleman in my community who was in the automobile business in Nashville all his working career recommend Trickett Honda to me. He said "they are good folks who will treat you right." In May 2008 I purchased a new Honda CR-V from Trickett. They were a joy to deal with and we agreed on a reasonable price without haggling or a lot of pressure to purchase from them. I wound up in the hospital with emergency gallbladder surgery before I got back to pick up the car and they called my wife to see how I was doing. In days gone by I serviced my own car but now I take it back to Trickett even though I live 70 miles away. I drive in on Saturday morning and in a few minutes they do a qulity job, give me a complete rundown on how everything is, and a free car wash to boot. If you want a Honda in my opinion this is the only place to go. more

I bought a new 2009 Accord EX-L from Bryan Pirtle at Trickett Honda on December 27, 2008. I can not be more pleased. Both Bryan and other associates with Trickett treated me very kindly. They allowed me to drive several Accords, Civics, and CRV's until I decided on which one I wanted. They even allowed me to go on these drives alone so that I could really enjoy testing the car without a salesman present. That in itself was the deciding factor between them, Crest, Waltrip and and the Aholes, (Reddell), in Murfreesboro. I wouldn't let my dogs take a crap on their lot unless it was inside one of their new cars!! Go to Trickett. Home of the $18.50 oil change for as long as you ever own the car. Ask for Bryan Pirtle and tell him that I sent you. he will pull out his "special" pricing sheet and give you the lowest price that he can sell it for without all of the going back and forth to the manager. more

I was recently in a car accident where my 2004 Honda Accord was totalled. I truely believe owning a Honda helped save my life! I had purchased my Honda from Trickett in 2003 and was so impressed with the salesman and the dealership that I went back to purchase from them again. I just bought the Honda Fit it is supposed to be a compact car, but it definately doesn't feel like it! Thanks Honda for making a very reliable car! Pros: Very friendly not pushy! Cons: Maybe they could offer more incentives once in a while, but hey it's a Honda. more
