Best

I like the way they display all the science arts. Very presentable and you could really learn something about science.

Actually a fun place to hang out 8/20/2005

I have a soft spot for science museums; or maybe I've never seen a bad one. Either way, the MoS tickles my creative spot in a remarkable way. The museum was clearly engineered by somebody who believes in fun. Sure, there's information and technology and deep stuff like that, and I definitely dig that. But more importantly, it's full of hands-on trousers-rolled seatbelt-fastened-tray-table-locked-in-upright-position fun. You could spend a whole day here and not be done; that's impressive. It's a little pricey, but not with a college student ID and not at certain times. Plan your visit well in advance. (Plan it carefully and ahead of time.) Be warned that if you spend too little time here, you'll be haunted by regret over having missed so much. On the other hand, there's nothing bad about coming back to the Museum of Science. It's a wonderful place. I'm glad it's here. more

Interesting museum 8/20/2005

This museum is no different than any other museum of science around the world. However, when there is an exhibition taking place at this museum, it's a totally different story. I visited this museum when they had Lord of the Ring exhibition and I really had an eke moment at that time. Everything was so fascinating. I recommend that you visit this museum only when they are having an exhibition. more

This has got to be the best science museum there is! 8/19/2005

I grew up in MA, so I have been to the Museum of Science many times. This is really a city treasure. It is so much fun for kids of all ages! :) It is perfect for school trips, dates, family outings or a sightseeing stop on a vacation. There is so much to see and do in the museum - you can definitely spend an entire day (at least) exploring it! There are many long standing exhibits that have been there since I was a kid, but they never get "old" - the museum is great because everything is hands on, so kids (and adults!) can really learn with all their senses. The Omni Theater, in my opinion, is better than any IMAX theater, because it is a dome, so the image is actually all around you. It is a great alternative to seeing a regular movie, too, for a date night or a family night! (although the movies are generally much shorter than a full length film). The electricity chamber (I can't remember the exact title!) is so cool! It freaks me out every time I see it (and I've probably seen it at least 10 times!). They have a nice cafeteria and gift shop as well. Highly recommend this place to everyone! more

Science CAN be cool... 8/19/2005

As an English major, it's really saying something when I rave about my fun experiences at a science museum. But science, in this museum at least, is indisputably very, very cool. Surprisingly, the Math exhibit was one of my favorites. It's interesting to see how everything works, even when some of the accompanying descriptions and explanations went over my head. There are also lots of interactive activitites that make the museum great for kids of all ages. more

Worth the money 8/16/2005

The Museum of Science is a fun-filled educational trip. The demonstrations keep your attention and you usually walk away with a bit of knowledge. You can spend hours there and just absorb all the information around you. There are always a lot of children and families in the Museum of Science, so if that bothers you, you may want to visit the museum very early in the morning. The Museum of Science is definitely worth the money. more

Scientific Life Alive! 8/15/2005

Museum Of Science is such an energetic place for people of all ages to learn about science. Its different sections in the museum brings a great experience to see different aspects of science. It also has an Omni-theatre that shows a lot of scientific films in great views! There is also a food court with a view looking right onto the Charles River and a gift shop with very nice gifts. more

nice environment for kids 8/8/2005

it's a very nice environment for kids to explore science in an entertaining and easy way. For those that are not too crazy about museums, this one is not boring at all. You just got to go down to the lower level, and look at the longest cobra skeleton, or the heaviest lobster. You can even get coupons for a very cheap entrance fee at the local library. more

Good place to learn 8/5/2005

This museum inspired me to learn and pursue a Science career. You will enjoy the place with its many exhibits, including dinosaurs, the stars, insects, etc. Take your children here, too! They will love the museum and will consider it the best museum they have ever been to. Best museum i have been to. more

Learn something 8/4/2005

The Museum of Science in Boston is a great museum for kids who want to learn something new. There is a plethora of topics covered here from how our bodies work, to robots, to the stars (there is a planetarium). There is also an IMAX theatre here and a large food court. You can get discounted or free admission through your local library. more

Great fun at the MoS 8/2/2005

Museums can often be dull and uninspiring, but at day at the MoS was so much fun, I forgot I was learning! For a person who despises math, I found the math exhibit very entertaining and enlightening...lots of hands on learning, with knowledgable guides there to explain everything! Another great exhibit was the prehistoric dinosaur exhibit, a crowd favorite. Be sure to catch the "electrifying" Theater of Electricity show, incredible! There's also a cool exhibit on the human body that has a lot of hands on activities that test your reflexes, coordination and muscle strength. Also, for the technologically savvy, there is a great exhibit on the history of computers; showing the inside of a hard drive to a replica of one of the first, room-size computers. Allow plenty of time to look around, there's so much to see! more
