Best

Very upscale location, there is a guarded entrance, Victorian gating, and a friendly neighborhood. Responsible co-op, and a fun place to live in the big apple.

Sweet suites! 8/18/2005

I stayed in the Murray Hill while on a business meeting. The hotel was very nice. It has kind of a 1980s luxury feel to it. The check-in staff was friendly, and the cleaning staff did a good job. The number of rooms with two beds is low though. The large suites are enormous and contain two bedrooms with two doubles in each. There are also full kitchens in these suites. It was very nice. The location couldn't really be much better. It's near to the Grand Central subway stop and there are dozens of restaurants nearby. I'd definitely stay here again. more

Editorial

  • The Scene
This 31+-year-old property is located on a surprisingly quiet block. The Murray Hill location is perfect for UN associates or anyone doing business in this part of the city. It offers both short- and long-term rates.

    The Details
The staff may not be made up of the friendliest people you've ever encountered, but don't let that completely turn you off. All of the rooms have fully stocked kitchens including microwaves. As well, they're equipped with individual climate control, a true plus during the sweltering summer months. The decor can border on tacky--think 1980s and bright colors. But the 125 accommodations are clean and comfortable. Despite the location in a residential neighborhood, the rooms in front are (relatively) noisier. For supreme serenity, ask for a room toward the back.
