Multnomah Falls 8/14/2002

I felt the the Multnomah Falls was very relaxing. It is a great place to go for hiking. Pros: Free Cons: Bad Parking more

Breathtaking!! 8/13/2002

Some of the most wonderful scenery I have seen so far in my 12 weeks in Oregon was around the falls on the 6 mile hike. Native flora and fauna, many falls and creeks plus gorgeous little chipmunks along the way make for an interesting and sometimes even breathtaking walk. Pros: Inexpensive, Beautiful Cons: Many tourists at fall more

Area landmark 8/1/2002

Anytime a friend comes to visit, I'm sure to plan on a day at Multnomah Falls. It has been a hit every time, and I never get tired of being there! more

takeing the scenic route 7/30/2002

I've been to Multnomah Falls twice and wouldn't mind going back. It's very beautiful. I haven't tried any hiking there, but would like to. This is a good place to bring visitors and you can even take them along the Columbia River Gorge senic highway. There is a on site gift store and restaurant, but the restaurant doesn't have many vegetarian/vegan items;-( Pros: it's free!, the beauty Cons: crowded in summer more

A MUST DO! 7/30/2002

This is such a great day trip! If you have a day off, don't just sit around at home....go here! It is so worth it. It's so beautiful and fresh and so close to the city. Wear some good climbing shoes and have fun! more

Great date place 7/26/2002

It's a beautiful drive (but not too far from the city), and a fantastic area to hike/explore for a few hours (especially with a romantic interest). Pros: Beautiful, Free, Offers Excercise Cons: Crowded, Restaurant expensive more

Just beautiful 7/25/2002

This is the must see day trip in the Portland area. Take the old highway and see all the falls, but by far Mulnomah is th best. Even during the cold spring I love to go for a hike, if not too muddy. Love this area. more

Speechless... 7/21/2002

Beautiful! God's creation is completely wonderful! Wow! His handprints are every place you look! Pros: Inexpensive, Worthwhile Cons: Lonely more

Off the Beaten Path 7/20/2002

The hike to the top of the falls is enjoyable but fairly drab if you only go stand at the top then start back down. In order to enjoy this place to the fullest and truly understand why locals would enjoy viviting a tourist attraction repeatedly, you must ""hang a left"" at the top and hike in a bit further. Take you shoes off, walk out to a rock in the middle of the creek and relax. No better place to forget about lifes daily stressors! more

A classic stop for out-of-town guests 7/18/2002

This may be an old standby, but it's easy to get to, very impressive, and can occupy people for a few hours, especially if you drive on the historic highway to get there. Pros: Free, Beautiful Cons: Limited parking, Overrun with people more

My favorite part of Oregon 7/12/2002

I love Multnomah Falls and all the falls & trails along the old highway drive. A favorite place for me to take visitors and my girlfriend alike. I was just at the falls this past weekend and even with the construction and a fairly large crowd we got up and in the spray of the falls in no time. Just beautiful and peaceful. I love Bridal Veil Falls & Horsetail Falls as well, harder to get to, so less crowds. The only downfall is the state upkept bathrooms at each falls site- yuk. Plus no where close to grab a good bite, so pack a picnic basket. Pros: View, Hike Cons: bathrooms, parking more

5 Star Scenic Attraction 6/7/2002

Another example of why we are so blessed to live in the Great Pacific Northwest...and this waterfall is right next to the freeway!! One look at this waterfall and I forgot all about Minnesota (where I use to live) Also, this waterfall reminds me of the waterfalls in Hawaii........spectacular!! Only drawback is you have to fight for a parking space......don't give up!! Pros: scenery Cons: parking more

I'm so happy!!! 5/27/2002

This is the reason why I love Portland. I'm from LA and I visit Portland for business purposes. Multnomah is only half an hour away from downtown and the drive is absolutely beautiful. Don't miss this attraction. If you are in good shape, be sure to hike all the way up to the trail to reach the top of the waterfall. You'll be amazed at how different things look from the top. more

A must-see 5/19/2002

Multnomah Falls is a must-see for any visitor. Be sure to hike to the top, which is all uphill but worth the view. And don't leave without getting an ice cream cone, which is part of the experience. Pros: Free, scenic drive Cons: crowded more
