Holding my deceased cat. 2/17/2014

Where do I start? I took my cat in because he wasn't eating. This was a Thursday. They were going to keep him overnight to use IV to jumpstart appetite. On Fri. they called saying he was improvement needed to stay over weekend. So I said ok. MAKE NOTE THEY ARE CLOSED SAT. AND SUN. On Monday morning secondary vet called to say my cat has not improved as much as they liked and wanted to keep another night. Tuesday morning primary vet called to say my cat was dead. He wanted to do small autopsy to see if he had pancreatic cancer. I did not hear from vet anymore. Then their collections clerk called Thursday and said bill was $1500...and that I couldn't have my cat until I paid the bill. The woman reminded me of a back alley thug the low class ugly way she talked to me. I wanted to work out payment arrangements but I can not work with the back alley thug assigned to me. She horrible. Two months after my cat died the woman turned my account for collections. It's been over 6 months now AND THEY ARE STILL HOLDING MY DEAD CAT and his cat carrier that the vet insisted I leave there for when I came back to pick him up. My emotions, spirit are just crushed over my suddenly dieing, a big bill run up on me and having my cat willfully held from me. The Vet to my knowledge has made no effort to call me that I am aware of. As soon as I have the money I plan to pay the bill. Until then I guess they will just continue to hold my dead cat. I have not even been able to grieve over losing him I am just in shock he died and over how ugly their back room collection clerk talked to me. What would you do if you were me? I want my dead cat back....they are holding my dead cat. They better not have disposed of him. I want my cat and his cat carrier. more

Mountain Home is great...other reviewer's clinics are not! 10/15/2010

This is a great clinic. The folks there are very caring and giving and don't charge nearly as much as everyone else in the area. The other reviews on here are fake and must be a competitor. Try contacting them and you will see for yourself. The folks at Mountain Home work hard for the community and don't deserve these negative marks. Shame on the vet clinic that posted these. Why don't you try lowering your prices or working harder instead of slandering the good people who are doing better work than you?? more

HORRENDOUS!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE 10/3/2005

This has got to be the most shockingly horrific veterinary clinic I've ever seen in my life. If you value your animals DO NOT USE THIS VET, they are the most uncaring and abusive people I've ever encountered. I have a lot of animals and was taught to do a lot of their care myself, including shots, worming, and daily maintenance and giving medications as needed. I order my veterinary supplies from Revival Animal Health. Well I took this puppy in to have his ears cropped. I called ahead of time to set up an appointment and find out the exact cost. Before I dropped him off I clearly stated to them that I did not want a cone put on the dog because it tends to make the ears droop. After waiting all day for their call I finally called them to find out how it went. They said everything was fine and I could pick him up. When I arrived to pick him up, he had the cone on and his ears were being pushed over by the weight of the cone and how little the dog was. The first thing I told them was I specifically asked not to have that put on and I want it off. While waiting to have that done they hand me my bill, it was over 100.00 more than they quoted me. On it were charges for three prescriptions, the cone and a few other BS charges. I told them that I didn't need their medication I had the same things already at home to care for him. Well the nurse goes back and gets the vet. He comes out and I tell him that I don't want the cone on him. He asked me how long I'd been a vet since I knew better than him on how to care for this dog. I told him that I'd run a kennel for the last 5 or 6 years and I do know what works for my animals. He copped a total attitude with me, grabbed the cone and began to yank it off of this 10 week old puppy, The dog is yelping, blood is coming out of the stitches. He didn't even try to unstaple it, he just ripped it off his head. I asked him what the hell he was doing, and he said well obviously I don't care anything about this animal or I wouldn't have refused to take his prescriptions and would have allowed the cone to stay on. I told him I had the exact same medications he was trying to sell me at home. He told me I was irresponsible and uncaring and if I could care less than why should he. I told him that he was a sorry excuse for a human being and that he ought to have his license revoked and that this was the last time he'd ever see me or any of my animals.I also told him that I would tell EVERYONE I possibly could about this place and he said go ahead. So obviously he doesn't care. I feel sorry for his kids if he treats animals this way. more

I must agree 7/14/2005

I strongly agree with the review before mine. I have had nothing but bad experiences from this place. I took my dog a while back, and he seemed to hate the staff members. He never acts as scared as he did that day. The prices are also horrible. The total was outrageous. Please do not go here. It is the worst vet ever! more

Avoid at all costs! Poor Veterinary Care 6/22/2005

Over the years we've heard a number of bad stories from pet owners who have taken their pets to Mountain Home Veterinary on Middle Creek. The worst incident was when a friend of ours took her small dog in to be neutered. They called her when the surgery was over & said he was doing just fine. A few hours later they called her back & said he was dead. When their top Veterinarian quit after working there for several years we knew it was even worse than what we currently knew about the establishment. To all pet owners out there beware of this clinic & please do not take your pets there. more
